Cyberattacks continue to be one of the greatest threats to healthcare organizations, providers, and patients. Awareness amongst clinicians and other healthcare workers is a key step in the mitigation, preparation, response, and recovery to such events. #cyberattacks #healthcare #disastermedicine #cyberdisastermedicine
Excited our submission “The Impact of Cyberthreats on Health Systems” underwent a double-blind peer review process and was accepted as a poster presentation for the Global Health Security Conference at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) in June 2024. Cyberthreats pose significant risks to population health, as they can lead to the compromise of critical healthcare systems, patient data breaches, disruption of medical services but the extent of the psychosocial, financial, reputational and physical health impact is still poorly researched and understood. On August 8, 2024, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a new rule that raises important penalties for group health plans. HHS updates these penalties every year to keep up with inflation, making sure they stay effective and act as a strong deterrent. Because these penalties are quite significant, employers with group health plans should regularly check their benefit plan procedures to make sure they are fully compliant. #hr #employeebenefits #EmployerResponsibilities #grouphealthplans
