The speakers on your event agenda will make or break the program. So please be sure to thank the ones who make a positive impact on your event. If they are paid speakers, a handwritten note or an e-mail sent shortly after the event's conclusion is perfect. You could also tag them in a LinkedIn post to give them increased visibility (but first check your contract to be sure that this is permitted). If you do not compensate these speakers--e.g., customers--consider sending them a gift to show your appreciation. Remember that they have taken time out of their lives to help ensure that your event is a success, so it's important to let them know that you are grateful to them. Whenever possible, personalize the gift so they know you were listening and care. If, for example, you know that they love wine from a specific vineyard, send them a bottle or two. If they mentioned that they have an upcoming trip planned, purchase a restaurant gift card for them to use in that destination. And if you can, arrange for an in-room amenity to be sent to their hotel room the night before they present at your event, if they're staying at the event hotel.
