Night Life in Sri Lanka Sri Lanka offers a vibrant nightlife scene, especially in its major cities and tourist destinations. While the nightlife may not be as extensive or wild as in some other countries, you can still find plenty of options to enjoy your evenings. Here are some aspects of the nightlife in Sri Lanka: - Colombo: The capital city of Colombo is where you'll find the most diverse and active nightlife. There are numerous bars, clubs, and casinos that cater to different tastes. Areas like Colombo 7, Colombo 3, and Mount Lavinia Beach are known for their nightlife. Some popular venues include Zouk, Colombo's most famous nightclub, and bars like ON14 Rooftop Lounge & Bar. - Kandy: Kandy also has a growing nightlife scene with bars and clubs. While it may not be as extensive as Colombo, you can still find lively spots, especially around the city center. - Hikkaduwa and Unawatuna: These beach towns on the south coast are known for their nightlife, particularly during the tourist season. You can find beachfront bars and clubs where you can enjoy live music and parties. - Negombo: This coastal town near the international airport has a thriving nightlife, with beachside bars and clubs that often feature live music and DJs. - Casinos: Sri Lanka has a few casinos, mainly in Colombo. These venues offer not only gambling but also entertainment and dining options. Bally's Casino and Casino Marina in Colombo are among the popular ones. - Street Food and Night Markets: In many Sri Lankan cities, you can experience a different kind of nightlife by exploring street food stalls and night markets. These places come alive after dark, offering a wide variety of local dishes and products. - Cultural Performances: Some cultural shows and performances are held in the evenings, especially in tourist areas. These shows often feature traditional Sri Lankan music, dance, and folklore. - Beach Parties: During the peak tourist season, some beach towns host beach parties and events, making the most of Sri Lanka's stunning coastline. It's important to note that Sri Lanka has strict alcohol regulations, especially during religious holidays and observances. Alcohol sales and service may be limited or restricted during these times, so it's a good idea to check local regulations if you plan to enjoy nightlife during your visit. Additionally, be respectful of the local culture and dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites. #sosrilanka #visitsrilanka #DCKaluthanthri #nightlife #streetfood #srilankatourism #SriLanka #DigitalNomad #Aguwa

Travelling to home town on festivals like Eid-ul-fitr, which is one of the biggest festivals for Muslims, is a must for most in Bangladesh. The transportation sector of Bangladesh does not have the capacity to facilitate the huge crowd hence the journey, most of the time, is full of sufferings for many. At the time when the society started becoming urbanized, lots of people had gone to the urban centers and industrial towns, leaving their near and dear ones behind. On Eid, these people do whatever it is needed to return to home base. Regular train, bus, launch tickets vanish at one point and people start to take other means to reach home base. it was stated in a 2022 statistics that around 13,00,000 people left the capital Dhaka as extra passengers in trucks, bus roofs, covered vans, train roofs and launches during Eid-ul-fitr. They confront sufferings and in cases harassment despite paying double the amount due to shortage of transport but surprisingly none seems exhausted or perturbed. Road accidents and deaths are common during this time but people are willing to take the risk. The gain (celebrating the festival with close ones) is higher than the life risk they take it seems. ...The pictures are collected from national dailies.
