Happy Independence Day from Bermex! As we celebrate this special day, let's remember to prioritize safety: 🎆 Fireworks: Leave fireworks to the professionals. Enjoy public displays instead of lighting your own. 🌭 Grilling: Keep a close eye on your grill and ensure it's on a stable surface away from flammable materials. 🎇 Sparklers: They can be fun, but remember they burn at high temperatures. Keep them away from young children and flammable objects. 🐾 Pets: Fireworks can be stressful for pets. Keep them indoors and create a safe, quiet space for them. 🚦 Driving: If you’re traveling, please drive responsibly. Watch for increased pedestrian traffic and never drive under the influence.

I just witnessed the most compassionate thing. It didn’t come from a human. I watched as a female Cardinal try to teach a smaller bird how to fly. Obviously, I don’t know the backstory of this relationship or what caused the smaller bird to be unable to fly, but this is so beautiful to watch. It ended up leading the little bird into the bushes for safety. I can still see the Cardinals hanging out, potentially to protect it from hawks. Lessons to learn from the Cardinal: ➡️ Be compassionate ➡️ Being bigger doesn’t mean you don’t need to care ➡️ Understand that with your knowledge can make a difference for others ➡️ Seek to understand others ➡️ Understand that your actions can make a difference for anyone ➡️ Teamwork can go a long way I don’t think I’ll forget this beautiful moment of solidarity from different species of birds. #compassion #teamwork #teaching #communication

Working on this idea of a guy named Max whose roommates with a anthropomorphic dog named Champ. Much like my Alaskan Mermaid, this will be another comic series I'd like to turn in to. I plan to expand on this idea of humans and animals residing in together in society. So more ideas are to come up! As for this post, I couldn't decide which drawing version I liked more, whether Max focuses on writing a list with Champ asking him to add dog treats to it, or if Max should show a bit of an annoyed expression due to Champ telling him to get him the treats. Since moving, I find myself with a longer drive, which means more time to listen, analyze and learn. This has led me to listening to Ted Talks, which I enjoy, as I like to hear other's experiences and views, to acquire new perspectives and knowledge. Coming from a public safety and emergency management background as well as being an animal lover, this Tedx deeply resonated with me.
