🚨 Breaking News for Colorado Pet Owners 🚨 Colorado voters have approved Proposition 129, creating a new veterinary role called the Veterinary Professional Associate (VPA). This new position is designed to help increase access to veterinary care, particularly in rural and underserved areas. VPAs will be able to perform specific clinical tasks under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian. Here’s what we know: 🐾 VPAs will require a master’s degree in veterinary clinical care and must be registered with the state. 🐾 They will work under the guidance of veterinarians and may perform certain procedures, such as spay and neuter surgeries. 🐾 The State Board of Veterinary Medicine will set specific guidelines for VPA duties and supervision. This measure aims to address Colorado's veterinary care shortages.
