Excellent piece describing how 340B positively impacts rural individuals and communities-
The author of a letter published in Health Affairs explains that Lakewood Health System receives $1.3 million in #340B savings annually, which helps offset the $1.9 million in uncompensated care they provide to patients each year. The author is an oncologist employed at Lakewood who sees firsthand 340B’s influence on #healthcare access and affordability for patients living in remote communities. His closing line reads, “The 340B program isn't merely a policy; it promises better health care access and a healthier future for rural America.” The author’s letter was in response to research published in June, which we covered in our blog. Read our blog here: bit.ly/463IXmg We must #Protect340B to ensure continued and robust care for patients relying on the health care safety net.
