Here's a map showing the #frequency of light rail services across #Buffalo city in the U.S. and its surroundings as of June 1910. The width of the lines on the map indicates the train #connection times of every: ➝ 7.5 minutes ➝ 15 minutes ➝ 30 minutes ➝ 1 hour The thicker the line, the more frequent the connection. It's worth mentioning that north-bound trains were operating every 7.5 minutes! 🕑 This indicates the impressive #growth of the region as an important #industrial hub at the beginning of the 20th century. Valley Transportation Authority Policy Advisory Committee- California shifted from focusing on vehicular congestion level of service LOS to the total amount of driving called vehicle miles traveled VMT for transportation analysis under CEQA. The use of VMT for CEQA analysis of land use projects has been used since July 2020. Since the Equitable Vehicle Miles Traveled Mitigation Program grant project commenced in May 2023, VTA has been working closely with its consultant team and project partner to document existing needs, VMT mitigation practices, coordinate with local jurisdiction staff, and recently hosted a spanish speaking community meeting with Nueva Vida Community where they had over 80 attendees. #HiltonForCouncil #Gilroy #HiltonForGilroy #GilroyBPAC #DowntownGilroy #GilMtg The goal of the Equitable Vehicle Miles Traveled Mitigation Program grant project is to develop the framework for an equitable program to reduce the amount of driving from land use developments in Santa Clara County, that works across jurisdictional lines and improves travel options. The project is focusing on equity in both the process (study and engagement events) and the outcome (a program framework that supports VMT reduction investments that equity priority communities identified as most beneficial). The program grant project aligns with VTA’s business line of delivering projects and programs by developing the framework for a program that facilitates the funding and implementation of VMT-reducing strategies such as active transportation improvements, transit signal priority efforts, or Transportation Demand Management measures. Over the past several years, VTA staff has been taking a leadership role in helping provide resources and technical assistance to its Member Agencies on the implementation of VMT, and Member Agencies have been coordinating with VTA and working on their own implementation of VMT. https://lnkd.in/gUJf-yCh

🚀 Exciting News for Florida Travelers! 🚀 Recently, Governor DeSantis and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announced that several "Moving Florida Forward" infrastructure projects, including the widening of I-4 and the Poinciana Parkway Connector Project, will commence 10-20 years ahead of schedule! 🛣️ These projects hold immense value for nearly 200,000 travelers who frequent Central Florida's highways. With the I-4 widening to ten lanes and improvements to interchanges for smoother traffic flow, we can anticipate a significant reduction in congestion. Additionally, the Poinciana Parkway Connector will fill a critical 2.6-mile roadway gap, connecting key routes and enhancing mobility in the region. #Infrastructure #FloridaForward #TransportationEvolution

The survey found 60 percent of eligible voters back additional construction against just seven percent who are opposed, with a majority also backing a ban on short-haul flights which can be covered by rail in less than two and a half hours. A new 171-mile high-speed line linking San Francisco and Los Angeles is currently being built by the California High-Speed Rail Authority, which hopes to later extend it to Sacramento and San Diego. Separately work began in April on a new 218-mile high-speed railway between Las Vegas in Nevada and southern California. In Texas there are proposals for two new high-speed lines connecting Dallas to both Houston and Fort Worth, though they remain in the preliminary stages.
