Last month, many of you saw us run a #mentalhealthawareness campaign for mental health awareness week, where for the entire week we invited dozens of people to get moving their bodies and minds. We hosted amazing events which everyone could come to (for free), and make a donation to Mind in return. One of my favourite events was the mid-week book club. It got us moving, with our minds. It was an afternoon where we aimed to break down barriers and share passages from our favourite self-help books within an imitate group. The team and attendees shared passages that had a real impact on our lives. We formed a safe environment where we shared stories that negatively impacted us and the steps we took, or are currently taking, to overcome them. It was incredible to hear how these books have helped shape our journeys. We laughed, cried and left connected with our feelings and inspired to improve our mental health more than ever! Here is a list of some of the self-help books our attendees recommended, check them out for yourself: → Unfuck Yourself by Gary John Bishop → Bank of Me: How to invest in yourself and others to build a great culture by Chris Preston and Jane Sparrow → How to Fail by Elizabeth Day → The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle → Sum: Forty Tales from the Afterlives by David Eagleman → It Didn’t Start With You by Mark Wolynn We love to mix it up at the Goho HQ. Never a dull day, never a dull event. #Events #PREvents #MentalHealth #MentalHealthInBusiness

Raisas Barbers will officially launch their ‘Kick the Stigma’ Mental Health Awareness campaign, in partnership with Brent, Wandsworth and Westminster Mind on Thursday 13th June. To kick off the campaign, they are bringing businesses together in a fun 5-a-side football tournament to raise funds for BWW Mind – who support over 19,000 people per year. They’re calling for all businesses to get involved, field a team on the day and be part of the ‘Kick the Stigma’ campaign intended to tackle the stigmas and taboos around Mental Health. Poor Mental Health does not discriminate. With 34% of 18–24-year-olds reporting mental health related issues in the UK today, if the next generation is to prosper our society needs to come together to change the way we address Mental Health. Mental Health is close to the hearts of the team at Raisa’s, as many customers confide in their barbers, often sharing personal stories and struggles. And, whilst the team feel privileged to be part of the wider support network, they want to do more than just listen…. they want to ‘Kick the Stigma’. The event takes place during the daytime on Thursday the 13th of June at the Paddington Recreation Ground Everyone Active - SLM Westminster To register your team please visit: https://lnkd.in/e38Qg8Q6 Adam Hyland from Raisa's said: “We believe progressive businesses today are looking to create inclusive, psychologically safe environments to enable people to open up and be their full authentic selves. Together we can ‘kick’ the stigma around Mental Health. We can change the narrative. To create sustainable change, it takes all of us to play a part in ensuring everyone is not only physically, but mentally healthy.” #kickthestigma

Did you know this week (13th to 19th of May) is mental health awareness week? 🧠❤️ You can learn more about it here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eXsXtmdw Mental health and well-being is something that's incredibly important to us as a family-led business. We care deeply about our employees, many of whom have been with us for the long haul. One of the small ways we try and ensure our employees are supported in their mental well-being is via our partnership with Peninsula UK. From work-related stress to personal challenges, our staff have access to a 24/7, 365-day-a-year Employee Assistance Programme. This service is all about offering advice as well as lending an ear. It's completely confidential and takes place in a safe environment. It's not as simple as introducing a single service and making it all ok for people, but we know that these things are steps in the right direction and want our employees to be supported in and outside of work. This mental health awareness week, let's all think about the small things we can do in our businesses that might just make a big difference to our employee's mental wellbeing 🤔 #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek

🌟 Join the Movement for Mental Health Awareness! 🌟 Dear Connections, I'm reaching out today with a heartfelt invitation to join me in supporting an incredibly important cause - mental health awareness. As many of you know, mental health is a topic very close to my heart and I have always made sure to advocate for this cause everywhere I go, may it be my school, university or during my placement. It affects us all in different ways, whether personally or through the experiences of our loved ones. That's why I've decided to take action by launching a fundraiser event (as part of my final year project) dedicated to supporting mental health initiatives. The fundraiser event is designed to encourage young people to find self-care and de-stressing activities that resonate with them and learn more about the struggled associated with mental health. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a meaningful impact. Your support will help fund crucial resources, support networks, and advocacy efforts for those navigating the complexities of mental health challenges. Together, we can break the stigma surrounding mental health and create a world where everyone feels empowered to seek help without fear or judgment. Let's stand together and make a difference. 🌟 How You Can Help: 🌟 Donate: Every penny counts and goes directly to organizations making a difference in mental health. Share: Spread the word by sharing this post with your network. Awareness is key! Join: Join me in raising awareness by participating in discussions, sharing your own experiences, and supporting those in need. Together, we can make a difference. Let's show the world the power of compassion and unity in the fight for mental health awareness. Thank you for your support! https://lnkd.in/ejnACEjk #MentalHealthAwareness #EndTheStigma #SupportEachOther #togetherwecanmakeadifference YoungMinds

Time to talk..... 🗣 Despite the glitz and glamour, the hospitality industry is not immune to the challenges that can impact mental health. It's time to break the silence and encourage open conversations about mental health in the hospitality sector. 🌐 MAB helps to break the stigma of mental health by: ⚪ Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs): MAB are partnered with the Licensed Trade Charity who provide a 24/7 confidential helpline, offering support on a wide range of topics. ☎️ ⚪Training Programs: We provide mental health training and have mental health first aiders within our businesses. 🧠 ⚪Normalize Mental Health Conversations: The teams at MAB have regular wellbeing check-ins, and line managers are offered training on effective conversations. 💬 ⚪Raising Awareness: Our team donated money to Mind for our Secret Santa this year, as well as writing our favourite things about our coworkers on Christmas baubles. 🎁 By fostering a culture of open dialogue about mental health, we can create an environment where individuals feel supported, valued, and empowered to prioritize their well-being. It's time to break the silence, challenge the stigma, and ensure that the hospitality industry becomes a place where mental health is a priority for all. Let's start talking! 🗨️💙 #HospitalityWellness #BreakTheStigma #MentalHealthMatters #TimeToTalkDay #lifeatmab

Just attended a fantastic talk by Claire Burns of Wurkplace Wellbeing about Mental Health wellness. Really useful discussion managing stress and prioritising moments of self-care as a means to balancing everyday challenges we all face. Thank you for your insightful talk and conversation. I particularly found ideas for open questions instead of "how are you?" useful when opening conversations with colleagues to avoid the "I'm fine!" shutdown. Thanks to Remap Consulting for supporting such an important discussion topic and Christina B. for organising this lunchtime talk #marketaccess #patientaccess #healthcare #dei #MovementForMentalHealth #WellBeingAtWork #wurkplacewellbeing #movingformovement
For over two decades, the Mental Health Foundation has been at the forefront of #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, uniting the UK in a collective effort to prioritise mental well-being. Since 2001, this annual event has brought together millions from all walks of life, spanning schools, further education, private, public, and charitable sectors, as well as families and individuals 🧠💗 This year, the theme is "Movement: Moving more for our mental health", but it's not just about hitting the gym! As Claire Burns rightly puts it, movement encompasses so much more. Whether it's indulging in a spontaneous living room dance party a la Meredith Grey or simply taking a leisurely stroll to a friend's house, it's about finding what resonates with you. 💪 At Remap Consulting, we're committed to fostering a supportive environment for mental health, starting with our 𝐮𝐩𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 led by Claire next week. We're excited to empower our team and deepen our understanding of mental well-being in the workplace.
