This website is all about supporting carers as they consider heading to college or university. It has information for carers, plus parents and teachers. And it has a place where universities and colleges can submit everything they have available in support of carers. I never imagined a year ago I'd be introducing 13 year olds to Henrietta Lacks and now I can't envision doing anything else. In true overachiever style, I've crammed ~14 months of training, education, test-taking, and coursework into <7 months. While there were tons of boxes to check, forms to submit, and papers to sign, it's rarely felt like work. My brain is tired but my heart is so full. Lessons learned: 1) 8th graders are the best. No contest. 2) Stanleys hold A LOT of fluid. 3) Stickers are popular at any age. 4) Everyone wants to be loved. 5) If something feels off, it's because it is. Give them 5 minutes. 6) Fishing Frenzy is the best of all the Blookets. 7) You can make it more challenging without giving more work. 8) Teenagers can seemingly survive on Takis and Craisins. 9) Let them name the class fish. 10) "The braver I am, the luckier I get."
