Hi Linkedin Fam ✨ What do you think is it all fine to only test the sunny test cases ☀️ during the functional validation? Or should we also consider rainy test cases 🌧️? I would say negating testing is as much as important as positive testing to make sure if the application is behaving as it is supposed to. Suppose if we are testing a sign-up feature for the application and we have validated if we are able to create an account with the email ID format as abc@xyz.com and we mark it as the application is working fine. Can we really ensure the quality only by this? What if it is also accepting abc_xyz.com? So the role to test such rainy scenario is to validate if we are getting the error message upon giving wrong inputs. So let me know your thoughts on the role of negative testing in ensuring the test object quality. #learnwithJJ #softwaretesting #qualityassurance
