A sense of entitlement belongs no where- but especially not in the board of directors space, where it has been a constant paradigm since class, privilege and business first arose in human society. My test? If you truly believe you are entitled to a board position simply because of who you perceive yourself to be, then I would say no. Our Commission on Software-Defined Warfare is off & running! What a first day! We debated & discussed what the focus of the commission should be. We spent a lot of time trying to identify the problem to be solved, which is easier said than done. We also discussed the name of the commission, with many proposing changes. The conversation was respectful, but there were disagreements, which is a good thing. There were a few core issues: - What is intellectual property, how is it protected, and how is it used? - Should we focus on software, the technical stack that supports it, or both? - Is there a difference in how the DoD should apply dual-use software (e.g. logistics management, budgeting, predictive maintenance, etc.) vs. that which is used solely for warfighting? There are many criticisms of philanthrocapitalism beginning with the limited transparency and accountability involved. There are also concerns that private philanthropy erodes support for governmental spending on public services.

That is how others perceive Africans as subhumans Nigeria faces deep-rooted challenges, such as corruption, poverty, and low productivity, despite its large population and abundant resources. While Bill Gates’ initiative to improve Nigeria’s digital tax system may be well-intentioned, it's concerning when placed against the backdrop of more pressing economic issues, like widespread poverty and inflation exceeding 60%. With a GDP per capita below $3,000 and over 100 million Nigerians living in extreme poverty, the priority should be on increasing productivity and reducing corruption, not just enhancing tax efficiency. Many Nigerians thrive abroad, yet these internal issues remain unsolved. The tendency to rely on external figures, like Bill Gates, to address domestic problems reflects a broader mindset where African countries often look to outsiders for solutions rather than leveraging their own talent. Historical and political factors contribute to this reliance on external influence, but the need for locally driven strategies is clear. The stark contrast between Nigerians’ success overseas and the struggles within the country highlights critical gaps in governance and resource management. For Nigeria to move forward, it must prioritize homegrown solutions and focus on building a productive, self-sustaining economy.
