We are excited to share details on the Origin Credit Advisers’* Strategic Credit Fund’s first senior stretch loan, Nola Sol in Las Vegas, Nev. Currently under construction, Nola Sol is a 308-unit garden development in a location directly in the path of growth, with a gaming center across the street and two new developments with millions of square feet of retail, entertainment and office nearby. This deal is the result of Origin’s preexisting relationship with the broker. When the original senior lender exited the deal, we opted to step in and complete the construction process via a combined senior stretch loan and preferred equity investment. The Strategic Credit Fund, a portfolio of yield-focused multifamily investments for qualified purchasers (an individual or a family-owned business that owns $5 million or more in investments, excluding their primary residence or any property used for business), will continue to make opportunistic investments in response to today’s dislocation in the credit markets.
