Your voice, your vote. As the UK general election approaches, we want to ensure every eligible voter in our community has the resources to make their voice heard at the ballot box. Over the next few days, we'll be sharing non-partisan information on the voting process, including ID requirements, ways to vote, polling details, and accessibility resources. Our goal is simply to raise awareness and empower all citizens to exercise their democratic right, regardless of personal views or circumstances. We encourage everyone to get informed on the candidates and issues, and participate in this cornerstone of democracy. While we must remain impartial as a non-profit organisation, we believe it's vital to protect the integrity of free and fair elections. Use your voice, use your vote!

All eligible voters should be able to participate in a taxpayer-funded election. Adopting open primaries, however, should not be limited to a take-it-or-leave-it proposition tied to the controversy of RCV. Unfortunately, by combining these separate topics, Proposition 1 does not provide voters with the option to adopt open primaries without also imposing the problems associated with Ranked Choice Voting. https://lnkd.in/gb_e_7b7

We deserve transparency in our elections. Hidden money clouds our politics. The 2010 decision by the Supreme Court in "Citizens United v. FEC" was devastating. It granted unlimited scale to wealthy individuals and corporations to influence our elections with hidden funding to meet their interests. How can you find and make sense of this flood of billions in shadowy funding warping our American democracy? 527 nonprofits, which include PACs and Super PACs, are one of the vehicles where this funding gets spent in an election cycle. It's how your elected officials get "bought" and "owned" by special interests who expect a return on their investment. There is new help. ProPublica offers a new search engine for 527 money: https://lnkd.in/eRT2ibGe And a July 9 workshop to help you learn how to sort through it: https://lnkd.in/eShTHi9y #democracy #nonprofits #politics #NGOs #politicalactioncommittee #PACs #SuperPACs #elections #politicalaction #2024elections #527

The May Primary elections in Gwinnett are quickly approaching on May 21st. Early voting is April 29th through May 17th. You have the ability to make a difference: VOTE! One of the best ways we can effect change is through voting, in each and every election. Voting gives power to the people and allows us to hold our elected leaders accountable. Here are a few reasons why elections, especially local elections, are an incredibly powerful way to drive change: Local government directly affects many aspects of your daily life. • Local and midterm elections are responsible for filling positions big and small, from Mayor, Sheriff, Judges, District Attorney, down to Commissioners. Your local officials are directly responsible for making the laws and regulations that affect your community and the services you receive. Local laws can set precedents for future State and Federal laws. • Local regulations can impact far more than just your community. Local regulations have a history of shaping state and federal-level policy, especially when it comes to grassroots movements. Be sure you’re registered, get politically engaged, and make your voice heard! Vote at the ballot. Vote with your wallet. Vote for responsible change! #clemonsforsheriff #experiencematters #integritymatters #gwinnettcounty #AAPIbelongs You can follow my campaign on social media, donate, volunteer, request speaking engagements or yard signs at: www.Clemonsforsheriff.info
