Part 3 of Hiperpool’s MBB Global Salary Index: Purchasing Power After looking at gross salaries and net salaries in each country, we have now incorporated cost of living (including rent) to compare purchasing power across the group. To generate the proprietary purchasing power score, we’ve used net salary figures and triangulated cost of living from three reputable indices. The scores are relative to the lowest scoring country, with a baseline index of 1. If you’d like to check out Part 1 (gross salaries) and Part 2 (net salaries) please follow the links below. https://lnkd.in/eq6KpT7X https://lnkd.in/edw-gtwT We will compile all three parts, along with the great input and feedback received, into a final comprehensive report soon.

Looking at the data of US, UK, Australia, and Singapore I agree up to the chart of net salary. However I am surprised Singapore ranked so low in terms of purchasing power. Is the cost of living based on an average of the countries? Shouldnt it be limited to the capital cities only? E.g. I assume an MBB Associate in UK will likely be based in London instead of Wales? There’s no way Singapore rank below UK in the purchasing power table given its lower tax and cost of living than London.

Very interesting but also surprising at both ends - suggests significantly low cost of living in KSA

I think, we can't consider this table to be very real, as I am one of the resident here is Saudia, at the moment if you haven't money or let say 10% of price of the goods, so you are able to buy anything you need, how, there us alot of facilities softwares like Tabby software & Tamara, you can split your payment into 3 or 4 months which make the purchasing very easy and give empower to any one needs to buy a goods.

Thank you for sharing Mohamad El Rafei - am I reading this right? Singapore with an index of 1.00 vs. Saudi with an index of 4.46 means that on average, consultants are 4x better off in Saudi after taking into account average salaries and the median cost of living costs? And from an employer's perspective - I should be looking at the Part 1 of your analysis which shows average Gross salaries to benchmark where the fully loaded costs of FTE's are the highest by geography. Interesting insights - for me, it means that for consultants who want to stretch their $ incomes the most they should think about locating in one of the Top 5 countries listed above.

I think the index will be different for different cities in KSA . Like Index will be low in Riyadh as compared to others as Riyadh is quite expensive
