A Day in the Life of a QA Engineer: My Daily Routine As a Software QA Engineer, my day revolves around ensuring quality, functionality, and security in our software applications. Here’s a breakdown of my typical day at the office: ✅ Checking Emails: First thing in the morning, I review my emails to stay updated on any urgent issues, project updates, or client communications. ✅ Team Meeting with QA: I meet with my QA team to align on priorities, discuss any challenges, and coordinate our tasks for the day. This is essential for fostering collaboration and maintaining efficient workflows. ✅ Daily Tasks and Responsibilities: My role requires a variety of daily responsibilities to ensure the software we release meets high standards: 🔁 Manual Testing: Manually reviewing applications to catch any issues that might slip through automation. Test Case Writing and Planning: Writing and structuring test cases, which serve as the backbone for our testing process. 🔁 Bug Reporting: Identifying, documenting, and prioritizing any bugs found during testing. 🔁 API and Load Testing: Verifying the performance and reliability of APIs and conducting load testing to handle peak usage. 🔁 Automation Testing: Using Selenium to automate repetitive tasks and speed up the QA process. 🔁 Security Testing: Occasionally, I dive into security testing to ensure our applications are safe from vulnerabilities. ↪️ Retesting and Tracking with Mantis and ClickUp: I routinely check Mantis and ClickUp for updates on reported issues. When a developer resolves a reported bug, I retest the feature to confirm the fix. ⏭️ Professional Development: During breaks, I stay current with industry trends, explore new technologies, and experiment with modern testing tools to improve my skills and keep my knowledge fresh. ⤵️ End-of-Day Updates: Before leaving the office, I provide my team leader with an update on my completed tasks, pending items, and any blockers. By balancing these responsibilities and staying engaged in continuous learning, I help drive quality and innovation in our projects. Quality assurance is not just about finding bugs; it’s about refining the user experience and ensuring reliability. #QA #SQA #DailyRoutine
