Dear hiring managers, if you're in the position to provide feedback to applicants who request it, please do it. Even if it comes weeks later, please do it. I encourage the moms I work with to follow up on rejected applications with a request for feedback, and less than 5% of the time, they get it. But this feedback is invaluable when it comes to improving their resumes, cover letters, improving confidence, networking, and more. Hearing rejection after rejection can make you feel like you're undesirable, but getting just one piece of feedback that says: "Hey, we went with an internal hire" or "Hey, your resume was solid, but your interest in our company didn't come across strong enough in your cover letter" That gives folks understanding, and more importantly, hope for a better outcome down the line. #jobseekers #feedback #hiring

Opinion -- resumes are "door openers" not "job landers". And my somewhat radical advice for Chief of Staff candidates is to perfect your resume for *the role* and then...let it be. Invest the time upfront but resist the urge to tweak it for every company, which is a massive time waster. Free yourself to focus on things that matter more, like networking & interview prep (the job landing stuff). Spend your time where it really counts. #chiefofstaff #recruiting

Ever wonder what recruiters and hiring managers consider as "fluff" on your resume? Hint: It's those vague statements like "leading to remarkable revenue growth" or "achieving extraordinary customer retention" that lack quantifiable data. 📊 If you can't quantify it, you'll be misguiding them. Employers are interested in the numbers – the measurable results that showcase your impact. 💡 Your differentiators lie in specificity. Be precise about your achievements and showcase tangible results to catch the recruiter's eye. Don't let your resume drown in fluff! Be specific, be measurable, and stand out from the crowd.
