"Every job is a climate job" The Project Drawdown publication "Climate solutions at work" is a phantastic read for every (!) employee concerned about climate change. It is an educating and encouraging piece to start action within your company - no matter the position. Like it says in the conclusion: "A good rule of thumb: Rethink and reimagine everything, foster strong communities, and keep pushing forward." Thanks Birte Prinzhorn for sharing the piece. Very good read! Download is free here: https://lnkd.in/ezdk3Brw

Climate change requires collective action, as highlighted by the understanding that no individual can single-handedly solve it. However, by leveraging the power of collaboration, there's an opportunity to create a climate-stable future. The Project Drawdown suggests five key areas where individuals can contribute: learning about climate solutions, adapting personal activities to reduce contributions to climate change, sharing information and engaging in conversations about climate change with others, advocating for systemic change with influential figures, and amplifying efforts by spreading the word and sharing resources. By taking action in these areas, individuals can play a vital role in halting climate change before it becomes irreversible. 📣 Orca is creating a social-media platform dedicated to sustainability, where everyone can learn, share, advocate and amplify... stay tuned! https://lnkd.in/gptUKYyc

Getting climate communications right has never been harder. Even those with the best of intentions are drawing criticism, or driving unintended consequences. As we bear down on COP28, here’s five tips to consider when approaching your own climate comms plan: 1. Understand the space - not just your own POV, but also the other side of the debate. 2. Know your audience - specifically. Who are you trying to tell your story to? How informed are they? 3. Be clear on your road map - not lofty visions or ambitions. What are your actions? 4. Be open about your challenges - those you are talking to weren’t born yesterday. 5. Tailor - forget the acronyms, speak in a language that your audience will understand, and topics they care about. We’ve wrapped up some insights from climate and sustainability comms experts here, from our recent session on climate comms - have a read for more in depth thoughts from much more articulate people than me: https://lnkd.in/e-FX65CG
