This is an amazing opportunity Duncan Gregory for new entrants to our wonderful profession to join an academy investing in the next generation of talent. 🤩 It’s not only the high quality training but the fact that these are those coveted employed trainee financial planner roles. 👏 Exactly what our wonderful profession needs to help fill in the advisor gap. 👍 I know from talking with young people how in demand these roles are. 🤔 They will be massively oversubscribed. 😔 Maybe the 80% of the profession still fishing in the much smaller self employed 20% pond of talent will decide to start creating high quality trainee financial planner roles too with both security and training. 💡 These roles are the equivalent to trainees solicitor and accountancy opportunities and exactly what our wonderful profession needs more of! 👍😊 It is how we will fill the advisor gap. 👍 Kudos to Ascot Lloyd! 👍😊👏 #advisorgap #employed #traineeadviser

As I stand at the threshold of this new chapter, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude. Completing the Corporate Claims Claim Trainee Development Program has been a remarkable experience, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my fellow Great Americans. During the past eight months, I have learned so many lessons. The first lesson being the art of perseverance. The path wasn’t always smooth, but I learned to embrace challenges. Each trial was a puzzle, and every solution a victory. Next, was humility, impostor syndrome knocked on my door, but I realized it’s a sign of growth. Lastly, community, the insurance world is vast, but our connections make it feel like a cozy corner. Let’s keep learning together. I would like to take a second to express my appreciation of Mary E. Another great Episode for our early career series: Where else can you bring together cheerleading and reinsurance?

What a difference a year makes. It's exactly a year to the day since I re-joined Lloyds. What's it been like going back in to employment after running a business? Well, it depends on what day you ask me. 🙃 Most days I'll say it's been a really positive step for me. I'm re-connected to people I know and respect, I'm part of something bigger than me and of course appreciate the 'security' of having a permanent job and a nice benefits package. Was leaving the corporate world to start a business worth the risk? 🤔 Some days I'll say YES. I learned so much and the experience definitely helps me make better decisions now, about my future. Some days I'll say NO. I still feel bruised and carry guilt over the occasions I missed, because I prioritised the business over important people in my life. I'm proud I was brave enough to TRY. Some people spend their whole life talking about it and never take the step. I'm more proud I was brave enough to QUIT. I quit while the business was profitable and exited a joint venture that wasn't working for me. Was it all worth it? If I'm honest I don't know. If you're thinking about leaving the corporate world to start a business or enter into a joint venture my advice is: Do it sooner rather than later Don't be afraid of quitting if it isn't working out. Quitting is a vastly underrated skill.
