I am also grateful for you, Sandra J. Doran, Michael Giampietro, Kathleen Bourque, Natalia Blank, PhD, Stephen Healey, Niti Seth, Dennis J. Madigan, CMA, our Board of Trustees, and the rest of the teams that trusted me to lead Phase 1 of the acquisition. We did it! Special kudos to the Phase 1 project team; I am a better professional for working with you: Jeremy Anderson, Jessica Sabbagh (rock star), Brittany Riley, MBA, and Susan Poglinco, PhD (and the Core team).
I am even more grateful for the continued confidence in me and our super-talented project team as we lead the next phase of this process: Tracy McLaughlin, Shirley Montovani, Madison McGrath, Jonathan Besse, and Susan Poglinco, PhD. Thank you for being tremendous partners, thought leaders, and accountability partners.
I am super excited about the work ahead. Collectively, we will think holistically about what it means to serve students, how to continue to make a profound and lasting impact in our communities, and how to transform ourselves and our organization.

Gratitude and New Beginnings: A Journey of Endless Possibilities
As my husband and I embark on an exciting new chapter at Stanford, designed for seasoned professionals eager to explore new ventures, I'm reflecting on the profound journey that has led us here, filled with gratitude for every experience and every individual who has been a part of my path.
From the sports world—coaches, trainers, and teammates in volleyball, handball, marathons and various endurance sports—you taught me the essence of both victory and defeat. You instilled in me the values of discipline, resilience, and the importance of embracing diversity and challenges. These lessons have been invaluable in every stride of my life.
In the technology sector, where I spent some of my most gratifying years, I was fortunate to collaborate with mentors, managers, experts, CEOs, and dynamic teams. Each of you played a crucial role in shaping my professional journey and personal growth.
To the partners and consultants in the consultancy firms we built, your partnership in driving leadership development and managing organizational culture has been transformative.
I am equally grateful to the executives, CEOs, and board members who provided me with opportunities to learn and grow, enriching my life with their wisdom and trust.
My family, my children and grandchildren, remain my greatest inspiration and motivation, constantly reminding me of the joy and youth that life perpetually offers.
As we step into this unique program at Stanford, I am eager to dive into the unknown, already envisioning the vast opportunities that lie ahead. Life is truly as abundant as our dreams and as expansive as our willingness to pursue them.
Here's to embracing the new cycles life offers, filled with learning, growth, and the excitement of the unknown.

What if college wasn’t just about academics but also about personal growth, well-being, and purpose? At the University of Denver, the 4D Experience is making this a reality, creating a transformative model for student success.
This innovative approach weaves together four dimensions—intellectual growth, purpose-driven careers, well-being, and character exploration—to guide students through a holistic education journey. From peer mentorship programs and reflective first-year seminars to retreats at the Kennedy Mountain Campus, DU empowers students to connect their learning with meaningful life paths.
Laura Perille, Ph.D., Executive Director of the 4D Experience, said, “We encourage students to think about their ‘why’—what motivates them and how they want to contribute to the world... We’re getting them to actually think about their ‘why’ as the driving force of thinking about potential careers and majors.”
Dive into how DU is creating a "constellation of support" for its students and leading the way in holistic education in our latest article on LearningWell, from Nichole Bernier:
