In order to build education and workforce systems that work for everyone, we need diverse representation in our leadership. Advance CTE continued our commitment to expanding and diversifying Career Technical Education leadership pipelines by: • Announcing a third cohort of our Postsecondary State CTE Fellowship • Launching a state-level fellowship initiative with New York as our pilot state • Releasing a postsecondary fellowship alumni directory to highlight the connections and skills of our accomplished Fellows

I had a great conversation with the CEO of Little STEM Academy in Pearland TX., LJ Henderson. We discussed the importance of exposing our students to STEM as early as Pre-K for better development opportunities and high academic achievement. Great Leadership starts with proximity and exposure if we want to change the face leadership challenges tomorrow it starts today.

Kevin Donahue, MLT's chief strategy officer, notes that even strong candidates faced challenges in recent admissions. While minority fellows who scored at least 700 on the GMAT had an 87% chance of being accepted into one of five schools in the past five years, this dropped to 76% for the most recent class. (MLT (Management Leadership for Tomorrow) is a nonprofit organization that aims to increase the representation of underrepresented minorities in leadership positions across business and other sectors. It provides professional development, coaching, and support to individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping them gain admission to top business schools, advance their careers, and become leaders in their industries. MLT offers a variety of programs, including fellowships, GMAT preparation, and networking opportunities to help participants achieve their career goals.)
