I flew out to LA with my dad to watch the Dolphins vs. Rams on MNF and it hit me while we were tailgating that the NFL is a masterclass in understanding its audience. It delivers more than just sports—it creates a sense of belonging, community, and excitement for fans everywhere. Even when things don’t go our way on the field, these elements keep us coming back. As a product leader, I’m always impressed by how the NFL aligns with fan expectations while continuously innovating to keep us engaged. There’s a lesson here for anyone building products: know your audience, foster community, and never underestimate the power of shared experiences. #ProductLeadership #AudienceEngagement #NFL #PhinsUp #MNF #VeteransDay

The WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association)’s unprecedented growth continues as the league, which just tipped off its 28th season on May 14th, finished May with its highest attended opening month in 26 years and its most-watched start of season across networks like ABC, ESPN, and CBS. The league also saw remarkable viewership growth among diverse audiences, with a 60% year-over-year increase among people of color and substantial gains among Hispanic and Black fans, as well as a 124% increase in under-35 viewership. Curious about how each rookie has been performing on search and what WNBA fans, new and old, are looking for on Google, I was able to calculate that Caitlin Clark is dominating the search spotlight like no other rookie in the 2024 class (not surprising given how much media coverage she gets). On average, the volume of searches she receives on Google is about 7.74 times higher than her 2024 rookie peers Cameron Brink, Kamilla Cardoso, Rickea Jackson, and Angel Reese so far this season. This insight continues to cement just how box office Caitlin Clark truly is! 🏀 What WNBA rookies have you been following most? Drop your comments below ⤵

As we head into the Super Bowl, one of the most fascinating shifts happening in my view isn't on the field—it’s in who’s watching, engaging, and shaping the conversation around the game. The Taylor Swift effect has been undeniable. Her presence at games didn’t just boost NFL ratings; it reshaped the audience, bringing in millions of new female viewers and shifting the way the league and brands think about engagement. But this moment is bigger than Taylor. It’s about the growing influence of women in sports— as fans, as business leaders, and as decision-makers. This Super Bowl isn’t just about the game on the field—it’s about the shifting culture off it. The impact of female audiences, voices, and leaders in sports is only growing. And this is just the beginning. Out in Nola next week? Lets meet up and discuss! #WomenInSports #SuperBowl #TheTaylorSwiftEffect #NFL #Marketing

Would Sports Be Interesting Had It Stayed All White? If major league sports stayed all white, how interesting would that be? What legendary roster of G.O.A.T.’s would we have missed? What new styles of play that elevated the game’s competitiveness would we have never seen? I contemplated many Greatest Of All Time players. Baseball: Jackie Robinson. Big Papi. Mariano Riviera. Football: Jerry Rice. Patrick Mahomes. Lawrence Taylor. Basketball: Michael Jordan. Magic Johnson. Kobe Bryant. What really clinched my fascination, however, was wondering when did it happen? When did we take multi-racial teams for granted? When did we cross the rubicon when multi-racial teams were just so everyday? Oh yeah, it’s just the way it is. Can you point to the specific day or year? When it comes to diverse corporate leadership, white male leaders make up the majority of roles at 75-80%. What would it take to cross the rubicon so that one day we can say, “diverse leadership, oh yeah, it’s just the way it is.” Until we cross that rubicon, how many GOAT’s are overlooked right now? How much profitability is diluted right now? How many diverse markets are underserved right now? How are shareholders being under served right now? 🤷♀️ #maleallies #menasallies #seniorleadership #diversity #dei #leadership #diverseleadership #diverseteams
