In creating the Bloomsburg Area YMCA - Community Resource Hub, our team has created five distinct goals that we aim towards every single day so that we can best serve ALL of Columbia and Mountour County residents. The official unveiling of the CRH is coming soon, but in the meantime, our team is preparing by doing all we can to best understand the resources available. GOALS: 1. Create a Community Hub that is designed to meet the everchanging needs of the community and provide safe, confidential services that strengthen family life and individual growth. 2. Serve more people through programs and services that fulfill community needs by being the premier provider of community programming. 3. Provide more Y-based counseling and services for children and adults in schools, homes and the community. 4. Foster connections between the YMCA and the Community by becoming a preferred community partner. 5. Broaden the ability to serve a larger audience by providing the resources needed in the community.

Education isn't just a school or parent's job—it's a community effort. This is very important legislation, but in order for it to work, it needs to look at *all* deaths in custody - this House version does, but the Senate recently amended away the most important aspects of this legislation and we need to push back by coming out strong for this hearing! As much as we may focus on homicide, there is an even greater problem of deaths by medical neglect. Although these might be classified as natural on an autopsy, they are anything but when someone is confined and denied access to lifesaving care. As the Corizon/Yes Care Texas Two Step scandal continues to generate fallout across the country (including here in Maryland), we must be ever vigilant that our state does not permit this to continue. The immediate cost to the lives of Marylanders is too high, and as the state becomes responsible for these bills as Corizon dissolves, the long-term cost to our general fund could be immeasurably high. Every Maryland taxpayer should be concerned about this issue!

Day 153 - BE WILLING TO GIVE BACK By Pyamene Abraham You give back to the society, for the society to move forward. For every society to move forward, those forward already, must be able to give back. Any generation without people to inspire them, will be like a car that uses fuel, yet has no fuel, that will be beginning of stagnation. What are you currently doing? What are you giving back? Stagnation and retrogression in every community is traceable to the fact that those ahead are not giving back to the community, so the community will perpetually remain at the back. Learn to give back to the society. No matter how little. Small things done continuously with sincerity, can make a very big difference. Always be willing to give back that special thing inside of you. See you at the top.
