UPDATE | As previously communicated, Alberta Environment and Protected Areas (EPA) in collaboration with the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), have now released (as of April 2, 2024) three web-based reporting products for province-wide air quality and industry emissions data, as part of the Air Data Management Program (ADMP). These reporting products make a large portion of air data submitted to EPA under AER and EPA Environmental Enhancement and Protection Act (EPEA) Approvals, the Air Monitoring Directive (AMD) and the Alberta Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) Code available publicly. Access reporting products: The new air data website can be accessed at https://lnkd.in/ggQK3QZC. The data reports can be accessed directly at https://airdata.alberta.ca. Info on reporting products: Air Data Information Map on Alberta Geospatial Platform (AGSP) This mapping tool provides the locations of industrial facilities with air monitoring requirements, large emission sources monitored by Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS), industrial ambient monitoring stations and airshed ambient stations, as well as specific information on monitored parameters. This tool is not used for downloading data, but to visualize what data is available and where. Ambient Data Download This report allows users to retrieve ambient data in .csv format and select to download data from industrial ambient, area operator ambient (airshed and EPA stations), or both combined. i. For industry ambient stations, data is available from 2019 onwards, which is when electronic submission to EPA began. ii. For area operator ambient stations, the earliest data available is from 1980. Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) Data Download This report allows a user to retrieve emissions data from industrial sources monitored by CEMS in .csv format (typically used on large stacks). i. The earliest CEMS data available is from 2007. Going Forward: A webinar will be scheduled soon to demonstrate the products and answer questions. Work on additional reporting products and ADMP integration with the Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS) is underway as part of the Alberta Government’s regulatory transformation project. Scope 3 emissions within the construction industry encompass indirect emissions generated from activities outside a company's direct control but associated with its operations.
