Exciting news! Yesterday, Democracy Green stood alongside EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan and Governor Roy Cooper to announce another historic funding investment for North Carolina. This funding will support the protection of wetlands and forests in communities with high pollution levels. This initiative is part of a three-state agreement to reduce pollution, preserve vital lands, and improve the environment for local residents. In a separate effort, Democracy Green successfully saved a 30-acre wetland in Brunswick County from development and pollution. After restoration, this wetland will help reduce pollution by capturing up to 125 metric tons of pollutants annually, benefiting the Brunswick communities.
