Interesting article for any leader being active on social media. From my perspective every leader should be aware that regular posting will shape the public perception of both himself but also his company and thus impact brand and reputation. Once aware of this situation social media is a wonderful platform for conveying values, opinions and positions to the external world and company employees. While authenticity is key I personally would refrain from posting political statements unless there is a clear violation of corporate values and/or an impact on the economic situation of a company.

💃 🕺 Frankly, this is a total distraction. I'm fairly certain that if CEOs and senior leaders: - Ensured decent working conditions for all of their staff (i.e. livable wages, autonomy at work); - Made business priorities constant, clear and focused (i.e. no 125 frequently changing KPIs to try and deliver); - Implemented robust, evidenced diverse decision making in their teams that supports reasonable goals and solid financial/structural conditions, most employees would be happy, as would investors. Employees are not kids who need bedtime stories about their workplace heroes, nor are investors convinced by easy narratives and charismatic leadership (or they shouldn't be). Who exactly wants to read LinkedIn posts about their CEO's morning routines, or watch TikToks on how they build personal resilience while being on considerable (but generally unmentioned) salaries? The job is hard enough already, without endlessly adding more to leaders' plates, especially tasks that are neither helpful nor desired. Less authenticity/storytelling and more fundamental work, please. #leadership #leaders #csuite #management #authenticity #socialmedia
