Kinetic Academy was delighted to attend the Speaker Series Chat at Google courtesy of Jason Jih. The interns enjoyed spending time and learning at Google's offices in San Francisco. Jason delved into paid ads and showed interns where and how they're executed. Google offered exciting perks to our interns, including an onsite barista, dining hall access, and a signed DeLorean from Back to the Future with Google Meet capabilities. Another one of our Kinetic Academy Speaker Series Chats at H/L was given by Jason Liu, a senior director of sales from NBC Sports Bay Area & California who talked about his career and offered great advice and tips for our interns as they begin their career journey.

in my internship at this d2c brand, we struggled with poor email campaign performance due to dull subject lines. when I revamped our approach by using personalized email subject lines that matched our audience’s preferences, the impact was incredible. • the result? a 36.9% revenue increase (₹3,848,037) in just 2 months. • personalized emails boosted open rates by 30% as a game-changer. • it highlighted the importance of customer-centric marketing for higher engagement and conversions.

In March of this year, I was able to accomplish a big goal of mine: to attend SXSW. I learned a lot from the panels I participated and from the people I met. The overall experience was incredible, and I can’t wait to attend next year’s. One of the topics that stood out to me was “Future Now” and “Super Apps”. The basic premise of these panels was that our future is leading towards a more simplified and technologic society. AI is definitely going to be part of our day-to-day and supper apps – where you will be able to perform several activities under a single application – will pop up in our screens not too long from now. In the beginning of internship experience at NBCUniversal, I was paired with four other interns to develop an innovative summer project related to Peacock Ad Sales. The topic is yet to come to this LinkedIn profile, but what I can say is that when digging into the data to create our deck, I was surprised by once again encounter the same topics I listened about at SXSW. Research conducted by Statisca on the use of digital medias throughout our society has shown that although digital videos and digital games have the highest number of users in the last four years, digital music has presented the biggest growth throughout the same period. Having this in mind and the fact that Netflix has been largely investing in adding video games to its streaming platform, I can’t stop but to wonder if the next step for our society is to have a streaming subscription where you will find all sorts of digital medias under one same application (e.g.: Netflix will display visual content, as well as video games and music). Curious to know what you think! #videogames #streaming #digitalmedias #supperapps

From a lone ranger I am growing into a team player. It is still unbelievable. Growing up I had always enjoyed the speed, agility and reliability of doing things alone. That is changing, it started with my internship at Nobel Learning PBC, it is being nurtured in the Global Promo and the Nigerian Promo team. I like to brag about my team mates. They are simply phenomenal. Let me tell you why, I didn't know what to write, but as soon as I came on LinkedIn, I remembered them, then ideas started dripping in. They inspire me that much. Just last week, we needed to implement some strategies which will help extend our reach. One was which was a collaboration. A team member found one suitable pick. I assigned another team member the task of researching the source. 😳 she went to the foundations to discover the year the page was founded. I immediately nicknamed her 'CIA'. This is just one of the many instances when members of our team have gone the extra mile to ensure that we get results. It is just awesome how everything blends when we have a common goal and the same motivation. I learn from them every time we come together. We change dynamics when we come together to build teams. Ubuntu: I am because you are. The sum of our team is greater than it's individual parts. #ubuntu

WE ARE NUMBER 1 IN EUROPE! As highlighted in my first post earlier this week since taking a huge risk and joining Falco KC Szombathely my internship has gone better than I could have possibly imagined. But Tuesday brought news none of us expected as a club that we topped the Basketball Champions League (BCL) for YouTube viewership in January. This alone would be something of unbelievable pride but it is when digging deeper into the numbers and seeing we had over double (100.8%) the views of 2nd place and contributed 26.6% of total Views of 32 clubs this success is truly unprecedented. I came into my Internship unsure if 3 years of research on the European Basketball landscape and Digital Marketing Trends in my own time would pay off, and if I actually had the skills required to deliver on what I was striving for, and it is safe to say I have exceeded my own expectations ten fold. As a result I wanted to highlight some key metrics in the context of the Champions League of our growth this season in this post that are off huge pride to myself and the club; - Leading the Champions League in YouTube views and engagement with February already providing even higher Averages on our record breaking January. - 37.6% increase in our YouTube subscribers since joining. - Over 100,000 Views in a month on YouTube, the highest of any BCL team this season. - 21st to 11th in Monthly Views. - 17th in Engagement (+11 on BCL Followers) - Top 10 for engagement on both Facebook (10th) and TikTok (4th), ensuring not just our International and New target audiences are reached with our ambitious new strategy but crucially still also engaging our existing loyal supporters through our existing established channels of communications. Finally on a more subjective note to proudly say we are out performing in metrics against BCL clubs with 25 - 40x Larger following and reach than us, and with a marketing budget of €0 just with creativity and hard work we have achieved these results and are still pushing for more. This is something I could have only dreamt off 5 months ago when packing my bags to move to Szombathely having never seen the City or where I'd be living. Equally moving with a repertoire of ideas and research having no barometer of how successful my ideas and research would be with my first true step in the industry, this Internship has exceeded all of my expectations and beyond. Long may this success continue with more exciting projects both marketing and commercial to launch for the remainder of the season. Hajrá Falco

The Apprenticeship Girl 💁♀️ | Early careers employer branding strategist | Online community of 40k+ | Speaker, Consultant & Founder @apprentivia | Co-host of Podcast Future Talent Talks 🎤💖
When I started the degree apprenticeship I was on at Microsoft in 2021, I began documenting my journey on TikTok. I gained traction quite fast (this video hit 384K views for reference) and it allowed me to: 👉 Build my personal brand 👉 Amass 20,000 followers 👉 Begin to build a second stream of income by working with brands on paid Ads AND build my employer's (at the time) pipeline of future apprentices. I can confidently say that because, to this day (3 years on), I still get messages asking me for tips on the Microsoft apprenticeship application process. Why am I sharing this? Because people by into people, not brands. And most importantly, people they relate to. So as part of your apprenticeship attraction strategy you MUST educate your current apprentices on how to build their personal brand online. The best part is, the benefits for you as an employer don't just stop at attracting new talent. By allowing your apprentices to try something new like this, they're developing extra skills, that will benefit the work they do within your business. For example, I learned: 👉 How to conduct myself as a professional representing the company externally as I familiarised myself with the employer brand guidelines before posting, which helped me maintain professionalism at events etc. 👉 What young people wanted to know about the company, which I communicated to the marketing team. This led to the creation of a video for the MS UK TikTok that reached almost 50K people. 👉 How to negotiate brand deals effectively. The list could go on... Allowing your employees freedom to post about their experience of working for you is a major way forward in attracting new talent. What's your take? P.S Proud of how far I've come with content creation 🥹 well and truly upped my game since these vids!
