6th April 2024 was a mind blowing and eyes opening session with Madam Agnes Igoye, Young Professional Mentorship Program (YPMP) Chief Mentor and Founder. It was a privilege to listen and learn from her in one of the session by #YPMP on “Professionalism”. Ms. Agnes Igoye, the Regional Immigration Expert to the eight (8) member states, with a wide knowledge, skills and experience across various fields specifically at the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). With her opening quote “If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased” (Katherine Helpbum). She stressed a professionalism as the conduct, aims, or quality that characterize/ make a profession or professional person. She expressed the importance of professionalism, how to develop and practice professional; a)     Need to be productive and value the importance of using your time rightly while at work. Maintain a good time management practice and handle tasks on time. b)     Practice positive attitude, humility and always maintain effective work habits which portrays a professional image.   c)     Make friendship and be mindful of who your friends are. Create friendship with people you can learn from. Get to know what friends are for, Are they supportive? Do they add value to your life? Life is about friendship to keep you in line. Ms. Igoye encourages one to always learn from professionals who knows more than you do as well as choosing the right network of professionals. Also, she emphasized on the importance of conducting a research when meeting a person/ professional you look up to.Charles Oyet Omoya, M.Ed.

⛳️ MELPA became a member of the International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE) 🎯 IOCE was founded in 1997 and currently unites 163 organizations worldwide. IOCE's mission is to raise awareness about the evaluation sphere and to increase quality, which is done through support and promotion of professional associations in the field. 🏈 According to IOCE, supporting the professional associations in the field of evaluation has a positive impact on democratic governance, effective decision-making and the development of civil society in general. As a result of joining IOCE, MELPA members will have the opportunity to regularly receive information about global news and innovations in the field, which will help Georgian professionals to establish and deepen international connections. ⛳️ In the future, MELPA plans to become a member of European, American and Canadian professional associations, which will further strengthen MELPA's international ties. #MELPA #IOCE #monitoringandevaluation #professionalassociations
