Our commitment to Electrification The path to a fully decarbonized textile industry is clear: Electrification is the only way to fully decarbonize. Anything else is transitional. However, the road to electrification presents its challenges: Energy Storage: The current inability to store renewable energy on-site slows down progress. Access to Renewable Electricity: A widespread lack of access to renewable electricity sources remains a barrier. Cost competitiveness: The operational costs of electrified processes must contend with those of traditional heat-based solutions, often skewed by fossil fuel subsidies and lobbyism. Renewable Reliability: The intermittency of renewable sources can lead to potential power shortages, disrupting continuous production. In light of these obstacles, our investment in Rondo reflects our belief in their groundbreaking technology as a key to overcoming these hurdles. As we sprint towards the 2030 climate goals, the challenge is formidable, but we must put our money where our mouth is. Simplifying the complex, making the tough stuff a bit more digestible. Yet, this is merely the prologue of our eco-epic." The journey's been like trying to assemble a jigsaw puzzle in zero gravity – challenging yet thrilling. We’ve been toiling away, aiming to turn this green transition from a whirlwind into a waltz. #SummerRounds Continuing our coverage of the latest financing rounds in the water industry, ZwitterCo has secured $58.4M in its Series B funding round, led by Evok Innovations. This round also included participation from DCVC, BHP, Munich Re Ventures, Siteground, HG Ventures, and Blue Horizon Advisors. ZwitterCo’s zwitterionic membrane technology represents an interesting innovation in wastewater treatment, functioning like a selective sponge that absorbs water while repelling oils, fats, and proteins—key contaminants in sectors like food processing and oil & gas. This technology reduces fouling and lowers maintenance costs, enabling industries to recover and reuse water from previously challenging streams.
