My one take home message from #WCEF2024 It’s been very rewarding attending WCEF 2024 in person this year in Brussels. Interesting sessions and invaluable engagements with participants. One of the most frequently made statements over the past two days has been “We’re using too many resources!”. And every time it leaves me feeling unsettled. Who is using too many resources? The inequality between north and south is getting bigger despite commitments to leave no one behind #UNAgenda2030 So how do we ‘free up’ resources, or rethink our relationship with resources, to fast-track the development of the global south; to fast-track the establishment of infrastructure to improve the quality of life for all? Is the #circulareconomy another opportunity for exploitation or an opportunity for development?
