Meticulously studying the actual piano's production process, the team translated insights into a detailed 3D model and drawings. Employing disassembled 3D printing, the production involved manual polishing, assembly, and three rounds of coloring to achieve perfection. The finished product allows for the opening and closing of both the piano cover and keyboard cover, capturing the unique shape and elegant temperament of the actual piano. This is a test of my Lattice Generator made for Blender's geometry nodes. It allows for generating internal lattice structures for 3d printable models, without the need for very expensive CAD packages. It uses a non-destructive workflow within Blender so that models can be iterated fast, without needing to take them outside of Blender. This would be very useful for printing in resin and powder based printers. I have several plans for how to extend this product to increase what it can do and to optimise it. Right now it can generate a range of Cubic lattices, TPMS structures (eg gyroid), Stochastic lattices and the ability to use your own custom Cubic Lattices. Various elements of the lattice can be modified using control objects. So if you have generated a topology optimised model, you can use it to thicken specific parts of the model to strengthen it. The Crayon Cuddler! 🖍️🤗 When I posted about my previous invention idea called the “Sketch n’ Sharpen”, Benjamin Dixon reached out to me with a similar, yet unique idea.💡 So I stepped in to help him refine his prototype a bit. He made it to keep Crayons together in the car or during travel. It keeps them from rolling around, but also keeps the colors together for multi-colored drawings! It’s super simple and low-cost to manufacture. The 3D printed TPU material allows for bending each Crayon individually. However, it can hold not just Crayons, but also pens, pencils, triangle crayons, etc. The possibilities are endless with this simple invention! What do y’all think?
