My Word Today is #AMBIDEXTROUS Few people are ambidextrous- that is, able to use both hands with a reasonable level of dexterity. Companies often struggle to be ambidextrous, for example, achieve rapid growth without compromising profitability or maintain high compliance standards whilst fostering innovation and creativity. Those who achieve such feats will lead their markets and fields. Can we pursue the sustainability agenda in an ambidextrous way that does not jettison Africa’s critical development needs? This was the challenge I posed in this intervention at the recent Milken Institute 2024 Conference in Los Angeles California. #wordfortoday #tfswisdomtips #gamechanger #ambidextrous #leadership #sustainability

At our BT Young Scientist Business Bootcamp this week 3 out of the 6 projects being worked on have an environmental theme. From efficient routing of public transport, understanding solar weather, to drones for environmental monitoring. In fact last year's winning BTYS Bootcamp project focused on the sustainable retention of soil nutrients. All wonderful examples of transformative thinking - inspiring us to set in place models that will ensure we can, as Tomás Sercovich says, "thrive in a net-zero economy". These young scientists challenge us all to think differently about collaborating to affect systemic change #BTYSTE #sustainability
While 90% of executives believe #sustainability is important, only 60% of organisations have sustainability strategies. ♻ At this year's #BTYSTE Executive Leaders Forum, business principals gathered to discuss the burning issue of sustainability. Our expert panellists spoke about the critical challenges shaping net zero success: ⚠ Balancing profitability and sustainability ⚠ Breaking incrementalism and short-termism ⚠ Shifting to collaboration to make systemic change In our latest blog we summarise the key takeaways from the event: https://lnkd.in/emdin2J4 Tomás Sercovich Sinead Patton Andy McLean Klair Neenan Eamonn Hughes Laura Trimble Brian Delahunty FCA Áine Kerr #Executive #Leaders #Netzero

Sometimes we need to make way for the new. Close chapters and relationships. Follow your passion and inner drive. In times of uncertainty, the bravest choice is to say no, to stop, reflect, hand over to make way for the uncertain and new. For me, to let go of HEART 17 has been hard and tough. But we all need to let go, to think differently, and challenge all "normal" ways of working if we want to come to peace with mother nature. Mother nature isn't pragmatic, just or interested in "working things out" to make peace. She has already starting to send the bills in forms of natural disasters, and she will not stop. She will use all her power (water, fire, wind and soil) to show us. She will be safe, maybe she just need to kill the bugs(human species) to stop annoying her. In the times were in, we're stating to believe the lie they're telling us. That we, humans can fix it, when the "time is right". That's a lie. That's a timeline that is false. So for me, to continue the path of seeing things clearly it's important to stop and reflect on how and where I, as one man, can contribute to new narratives, ways of living, and to thrive in the future. And not start to believe in the lie from shareholders of the old ways that put us here. In the attached report that we (me, Anna Rindefjell and Yrsa Holmén) made with the help of youth rep's, business leaders, artists and science. We've proven that it's not the one with the most money who find the best ways of transforming instead of adapting. It comes down to generosity, passion and think differently. Be radical, do things with passion and people will follow. If you want to know more about the learnings of creating community driven projects and business - please reach out! I'm all in for sharing is caring over coffee or beer. I'm 100% sure some parts, if not all, of this report is relevant for everyone who wants to do things smarter, aligned with science but also interesting for the one's you want to attract. So now it's time to make way for the new, in the meanwhile here in the transition zone, the liminal space, life isn't easy. In the context of weak leadership for the Swedish government, inflation due to idiotic business models, and white supremicists of want to conquer and own people and land life is heavy, the belief in the future is low. The "good examples" doesn't balance out all the bad one's out there. In the last phase of transformation there's a lot of casualities and damage. I certainly hope we can continue to mobilize civil disobedience to make way for the new. Instead of leaning back on the old. So while figuring shit out, I'm here to serve. Projects, ideas, whatever. We need to stay in contact, our bonds need to be strong, no matter what. Love you all who share this and are connected in some kind of way to me digitally on this platform. /jonas s/o Anna Ryott, Jörgen Andersson, Sahara Widoff, Elisabet Stahlenius, Saga Norberg, Louisa Andersson, who I worked closest with🖤

𝐄𝐒𝐆: 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 🌎 Next Thursday at Lider media conference “Sustainable Future” our Dianna K. Descovich will be holding a lecture on the importance of inclusive leadership for ESG goals achievement. People management, a part of the S dimension of the well-known ESG acronym, is highly emphasised under new non-financial reporting requirements. Every successful initiative starts from the top, in the context of ESG, the involvement of top management is necessary, as it shapes the desired corporate culture crucial for the way of working. This direction from the top plays a pivotal role in implementing policies that result in the expected indicators, which have been sporadically monitored and have now become mandatory. Only 69% of business leaders believe that sustainability/ESG is integrated into the core of a business according to research published by Business in the Community Ireland (BITC). ♻ Tomás Sercovich, CEO of BITC joined us at this year's #BTYSTE Executive Leaders Forum, where he discussed the current state and future vision for #sustainability among Irish businesses and how we can accelerate the transformation towards a zero emissions, nature positive and inclusive society.
