I wanted to share this video with everyone as I think its really important that if you brew beer or wine you actually know what it should taste like. It took me an entire afternoon to cut and 4 days to shoot. It is designed to give you an idea of where you can find all the dark beers in Dublin and give them a try. The key changes to the brew are... amount of malt (changes alcohol content) amount of dark malt (cooked for longer) gassing i.e. CO2 or Nitrogen hop types and amount and time left in. Essentially they are all the same, but these differences make all the difference to something that most people think is the same! The Science is so amazing of fermentation which is why you have degrees in the subject for Chemists! #science #brewing #dublin #stout #beer #fermentation

* Restaurant owners * Operators * Thought leaders in the industry can ALL learn a lot from studying/watching sports events and their athletes. Over the weekend, an amazing boxing match happened. Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney Without going into all the details of the pre, during, and after the fight - Ryan Garcia did what most didn’t believe he will do, WIN 🏆 Because of all of his behavior in recent months, most (including Haney himself) believed he will not be ready. And even appeared psychologically “absent” from time to time. In their world, he was * emotionally - all over the place * psychologically - disturbed With all of the responsibilities you have on your plate, it may occur that you too appear * emotionally - all over the place * psychologically - disturbed But what do you do when it happens to you? In Garcia’s case, most was part of his plan. He knew exactly what he was doing. In your case however, it may be different as you are not necessarily attempting to confuse your competitors. The thing though is, you may not purposefully attempt to confuse your competitors, but you ARE confusing your team with your behavior and/or the way you’re expressing yourself. You may not have to do like Ryan did and have a mini orchestra playing “war music” as he was getting himself ready for his fight🥷 But, you can calm your mind by allowing yourself * to understand what’s going on with your emotions * by choosing to work/study the psychological aspects of the restaurant industry so you can become better at what you are doing As a Mental Toughness Specialist in the restaurant industry, I can help you get competitive, ready, and/or calm the emotional and mental parts of you😃👏🏿 P.S. I don’t play any instruments though😂 https://lnkd.in/g4ngtNgf

Day 8 - Matzoh Ball Soup and Rest Today wasn’t about crushing goals or powering through. Why? Because I’m sick. And when you’re sick, self-love looks a lot less like doing and a lot more like resting. The cringy version of today’s challenge would have you “nourish your body with a homemade meal made from scratch.” But let’s be real—when you’re already feeling like death warmed over, the last thing you want to do is stand in a kitchen and pretend to be a chef. Instead, I ordered matzoh ball soup. A warm, comforting bowl of nostalgia and nourishment delivered straight to my door. And honestly? Even though it wasn’t the best tasting, it was still helpful; even just the thought. Why This Counts as Self-Love Sometimes, taking care of yourself means leaning into the simplest things. Here’s why: 1. Comfort Food Heals More Than Your Body Matzoh ball soup—or whatever comfort food you swear by—has a way of calming both your body and your mind. It’s warm, familiar, and just feels right when everything else feels off. 2. Rest Is Productive You can’t run on empty. Rest is a necessary part of self-love, even if it feels lazy. Letting yourself recover isn’t slacking—it’s recharging. 3. It’s Okay to Do the Bare Minimum Ordering soup instead of making it doesn’t mean you’re failing at life. It means you’re smart enough to conserve your energy for what really matters: getting better. My Takeaway Today wasn’t about doing; it was about doing less. Less guilt, less stress, less forcing myself to be “productive.” I let myself sit, sip some soup, and just exist for a bit. And honestly? It felt good to let go of the pressure to do. Self-love doesn’t have to be elaborate. Sometimes it’s as simple as ordering soup and letting yourself rest. What’s Your Go-To Comfort Food? When you’re sick or just need a little extra care, what’s the meal that always hits the spot? Drop it in the comments—I’m always looking for new ideas.
