Thank you to our amazing CNAs! Your passion and dedication is greatly appreciated, not only by Home Health Companions but also by the clients and families you serve. Your care is remarkable and can't be matched. We appreciate your hard work. Since 1977, The US has been celebrating National Nursing Assistants Week annually during the second week of June. More than 825,000 certified nursing assistants (CNAs) work in the United States and we couldn't be prouder of the twelve employed at Home Health Companions. Our CNAs provide direct care and assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) under the supervision of licensed nurses or other licensed medical personnel. Let's give another big THANK YOU to our amazing CNAs. #cnaappreciationweek #cna #dallashomecare #certifiednursingassistants

#MakePositiveNoise honestly… this is a retention strategy that will work as long as you make is accessible to bedside staff. Grand rounds are usually hard to make, difficult to get people to come to and challenging to get staff to engage. Utilizing digital technology is an easy way to do this. Step 1: Have the speaker send a teaser video (I usually do a long form, captioned video of me walking the dog or doing something random, saying hi! I am Mel… I do this. And I’m looking forward to seeing y’all soon! ) then they email that to the staff prior to my arrival with a registration link. Step 2: the day of the grand rounds i am on tiktok. Twitter, insta. Engaging with folks. Then they film me. I let them! Why? Well I usually say something different each time, also, I love to have them send the recording out to staff who couldn’t make it. Step 3: follow up survey. That survey can include questions about what would make people more engaged and allow for feedback in a narrative. To learn how to use speakers to retain staff like this incredible organization is doing, send me a message. Happy to help you strategize! #positive #healthcare #innovation #newgradnurses #retention
Baystate Health hosted Katie Boston Leary, PhD, MBA, MHA, RN, NEA-BC for Nursing Grand Rounds. Her talk, Nurses: Holding the Key to Redesign and Make a Difference in the Future of Healthcare and Beyond was riveting and thought-provoking. Admittedly, I am a huge Dr. Boston-Leary fan! Thank you for your visionary leadership! #Nursingvision #Nursesleadingtheway #Nursesarethedifference #Baystatenurses#1

LPNs are making a comeback in hospitals, and for good reason. According to a recent article published by Becker's Hospital Review, health systems across the country are embracing nursing team models that allow registered nurses to work at the top of their licenses. This means that LPNs are being utilized in a more meaningful way, leading to better patient care and reduced workload intensity for RNs. https://buff.ly/3tpwTOw
