Special Delivery: Does Medicare Have a Grocery Benefit? Part A and Part B of Medicare do not typically cover home-delivery services for meals. Part B, which helps pay for the cost of outpatient services, does help cover home health services, but not payment for meals delivered to a home. However, Medicare Advantage (MA) plan beneficiaries may be offered coverage for meal delivery and grocery shopping. Building on that analysis, you can predict the amount of (and team time wasted on) authorizations. These are the assumptions most health systems use: 95% of Medicaid Rides can be covered & arranged via broker 5% of Non-Ambulance Medicare Rides can get covered and need auths 5% of Non-Ambulance Commercial Rides can get covered and need auths 5% Ambulance Medicare Rides can get covered and need auths 95% Ambulance Commercial Rides can get covered and need auths Don't let the lack of baseline data be the reason you can't build a business case to fix your system's transportation and #patientflow problem. #RideEconomics
