"Barriers to engaging in direct delivery Respondents from those local authorities not directly engaged in the direct delivery of housing were asked to specify the reason(s) for this. 45 respondents chose to answer this question and the results are illustrated below (Figure 1). The three key issues identified from the pre-suggested options were lack of funding, lack of land, and lack of expertise, similar to our previous surveys. However, it is noticeable that the ‘other’ option is the most prominent. Looking at the reasons specified for this category, these mostly relate to not being a stock-owning authority and feeling hampered by not having retained housing stock or having a Housing Revenue Account. There were also mentions of risk appetite, the high cost of land, and insufficient staffing resources. " The Procurement Act and regulations will further compound the lack of expertise problem. "focus on JV framework procurement, tender bids, and existing contracts, project management, Monitoring, and troubleshooting services all align with the 2023 Act, to enhance competitiveness and deliver value to clients. How long is LSA's housing waiting list? This is a common question we get asked and in this video, Susan LeRitz, LSA Program Director, shares important information on how the process works. We call it a family interest list because when there is an opening, it's not a matter of reaching out chronologically to the next person, but rather determining who on the list sounds like they could potentially be a good fit for the level of the home, what their needs and goals are, and is this a harmonious match for themselves and the residents. You can read the transcript or watch the recording where Susan answers more common questions like this by visiting https://lnkd.in/ggN6H8Zn To sign up for our family interest list visit the link in our bio. What question should we answer on here next? Let us know by sending us a DM or leaving it in the comments below.
