I am so proud and honored to have been part of this research, and I encourage you to check out the article to learn more about the fascinating and innovative virtual driving assessment: https://lnkd.in/emtnbc78
I can never take credit alone for anything I have accomplished. Decades of systematic research, software development and implementation, involving many talented and passionate colleagues, led to the virtual driving assessment described in today's The Wall Street Journal column and delivered in dozens of practices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The list below only begins to include the many people who supported this work. The research team included so many people - most notably, my current co-leads: Elizabeth A. Walshe, PhD Dan Romer The team on the Pediatrics paper mentioned in the column included Michael Elliott David Grethlein Alexander Gonzalez Thomas Seacrist Shukai Cheng, PE Allison E. Curry, PhD, MPH Too many names to include are the teams of people involved in our foundational and applied studies and their analyses - please know that I appreciate you. The incredible software development and implementation team at Diagnostic Driving, Inc. realized the transformation of laboratory-based tool into a clever, highly useable and accurate diagnostic tool - the ReadyAssess virtual driving assessment. Thank you, Venk Kandadai Luke Walker David Grethlein Camden Segal Michael Sosnowski The team that is currently delivering the virtual driver assessment Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is led by Maura Powell Alex Fiks Lisa Biggs The outreach team who supports getting the word out included Suzanne Hill Christine Norris Ben Leach and Stephanie Hogarth. I would also like to thank our primary sponsors of this work: NJM Insurance Group Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Ohio Department of Public Safety. But most importantly, I would like to thank the families who participated in our research that allowed us to rigorously develop and evaluate our work. Clinical research participation is an act of service that is crucial to the advances that we make in medicine.

Medical Doctor (retired). Expert in the area of Physician Retention. Keynote speaker. DPC advocate and author of three books on this topic.
A great post by Dr. Newman. "My contention is that both the corporate practice of medicine and the scope creep movement deny patients choice by engaging in deceit, fraud, coercion, misrepresentation, duress, etc. Conflation of non-physician practitioners(NPPs) with physicians, for the sole purpose of misleading patients while simultaneously removing their option of being seen by a physician, is one example. Their modus operandi, fully sanctioned by legislators and politicians who refuse to enforce corporate practice of medicine laws or respect state Medical and Nursing Acts. In my opinion, by permitting the unsupervised practice of medicine by NPPs, legislators are enabling human experimentation, only in a more sophisticated model. Yeah, I said it. When laws designed to protect the public are removed by legislators who sanction the deceit and thus the experimentation, is that not a crime? If it isn’t, it should be." Your EMR is decent(ish) at documenting encounters and (pretty) OKAY at submitting claims to insurance. Your EMR was never designed to optimize the patient or practice experience…and support ticket requests go into a very long queue to only be told “Sure…sounds like a nice feature but not possible this cycle” You don’t have to wait to improve your patient’s experience or the experience of your busy staff. #practicemanagement #EMR #physicians #therapists

Providence and Blue Shield need to put patients first. If they cannot come to terms through negotiation then they need to have a continuation until year end, until open season, so patients can prepare to change their insurers or providers. After calls to Providence and Blue Shield, it is my understanding, that if on June 1st my Heritage provider no longer accepts Blue Shield, my only choice is to change providers and networks. The risk here for many patients is delay of care that could be life threatening. Imagine the disruption to life-saving treatments, planned surgical procedures, tests, and scans. Losing my care team will be a travesty. I've already chosen a Hoag physician in preparation for June 1st if I am forced to make this change. #KTLA5 #Providence #OrangeCounty #BlueShield #Medicare #Heritage #SistersofProvidence #HOAG
