*EVERYONE* in #IT right now, all over the world. HOW to fix the #Crowdstrike update error. 👇 1. Boot Windows into safe mode 2. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike 3. Delete C-00000291*.sys 4. Repeat for every host in your enterprise network including remote workers (5. If you're using BitLocker jump off a bridge) May the Force be with you, always; particularly to IT workers, who must now cancel all weekend plans. (NSFW clip. The thumbnail tells you everything you need to know, but sometimes, it's all in the delivery. 😉) _ #BlueOysterCult, Bueller? IYKYK 😉

Testing Windows Updates Before Deployment Yesterday's event highlighted the risks of automatic software updates. To safeguard your business, always test updates before deploying them company-wide. Here’s how: 1. Create a Test Environment: Set up a controlled environment that mirrors your production setup. This can consist of 1 desktop, 1 laptop, and 1 server. Do not allow these test machines to access your network, other than to receive the updates. 2. Use a Pilot Group: Select a small group of non-critical users to receive the update first. 3. Monitor and Analyze*: Observe the pilot group for any issues and gather feedback. A few days should be enough for anything to happen. 4. Backup Systems: Ensure you have recent backups before applying updates. 5. Rollback Plan: Have a clear rollback plan in case the update causes problems. If you are using a controlled test environment, then consider wipe and image afterwards. By following these steps, you can minimize disruptions and ensure stability. Stay proactive and protect your business from potential update issues. #BusinessContinuity #ITManagement #UpdateTesting #WindowsUpdates Feel free to share your experiences and tips below!

We can use remote control software to connect to your computer so we can both look at your your screen. You can choose to not allow us to control the mouse or keyboard, or you can grant us control of the mouse and keyboard and we can explain everything we're doing over the phone. OR You can ask us to walk you through the needed troubleshooting over the phone without me seeing your screen. Sometimes during initial stages of fixing the issue, a phone call is the only way to start, since a ‘blue screen’ or ‘repairing pc’ loop is happening and windows is not able to load and allow us to screen share. Don’t worry, we can guide you through how to get past those issues over the phone. Then once we have Windows working, we can screen share, if needed.
