Transforming Spaces, Preserving Stories🏡 What if walls could speak? In Athens, every building tells a tale. From Byzantine influences to neoclassical elegance, Athens’ homes are a testament to the city’s vibrant past. At Homestory, we’re dedicated to preserving these stories while meeting the needs of modern residents. When we take on a renovation project, our approach is simple yet profound: honor the past, and embrace the future. We restore intricate woodwork, maintain original facades, and preserve traditional courtyards—all while integrating features like air conditioning, high-speed internet, and modern kitchens. Preservation is more than maintaining beauty; it’s about fostering a sense of belonging. Residents live in a space and within a piece of history, becoming stewards of the city’s cultural legacy. Athens inspires us to innovate without forgetting where we came from. We hope to pass on this philosophy in every home we curate. ✨ Looking for a home that bridges heritage and innovation? CASA CANALES https://lnkd.in/eCAiAfJH Projecting out from a steep, rugged mountainside, this house commands a panoramic view over the valley that contains Mexico’s industrial center. From the shade of the elongated porte cochere, the visitor is left to discover and contemplate the beauty that lies below. Deceptively cantilevered far out over the mountainside, an edgeless triangular plane of cool, aquamarine water appears suspended weightless in space. This reflecting pool doubles as the water cooled roof of the house. A temple like observation pavilion, perched at the farthest corner of the pool, tempts visitors to a refuge that seems supported by the sky. A monumental set of stone steps leads enigmatically into the depths of the cool areas below, like an ethereal portal to an underwater world. Directly below, the house seems to emerge from the very stone of the mountain. Overlapping layers of open lattice walls, colonnades, and glass allow breezes to filter through softly and create rich patterns of light and shadow. Each room within opens completely onto broad covered terraces and balconies to the outdoors, which capture the natural breezes and create cool, shaded areas for the family’s daily activities. More good news to share. LDA Design is part of a competition-winning team to design a new visitor centre at #Hastings Castle, featuring a café, restaurant, retail and #community space. Appointed by Hastings Borough Council, the winning team led by Poroban and including #heritage consultant Purcell, will work together to ensure the site remains a significant cultural #destination with a focus on sustainability, heritage and community involvement. #Biodiversity will be enhanced across the site with swathes of #meadow planting that is sensitive to the historic context and local flora and fauna, alongside careful #ecological and #landscape management. Improving accessibility, a new lift is proposed to create step-free access from the West Hill Lift top station to the castle and its grounds. Wonderful to be part of this winning submission. Go team Hastings Castle! Well done to all involved, including from LDA Design Catherine Birkin and Ellie Buckell. https://lnkd.in/eybJampD Image: Ideas for an enhanced landscape for the new visitor centre at Hastings Castle - credit Poroban Architects’ Journal #HastingsCastle #competition #win #Hastings #history #sustainabledesign #biodiverselandscape #landscapearchitecture #destination #design #inclusion #accessibility

As Your Bega Partner for Hungary
Palace of Versailles – Countless palace buildings were modelled after this UNESCO World Heritage Site until the 19th century. Special BEGA LED in-ground luminaires contribute to its appropriate staging. Two almost identical luminaires, which are barely distinguishable from the outside and create a harmonious overall look, take on very different lighting tasks at the palace proper and in the landscaped parks.
