Horses for courses! Ability vs Viability... Expectation management and competence above confidence! All subjects dealt with on previous editions of our regular event Perspective. In this short clip I try to raise awareness to the fact that when violence raises it's ugly head and is upon you, nothing I can teach, nothing you know is guaranteed to work, and nothing is bound to fail. The tools you have, your ability to use them in the moment and above all your ability to control your emotions so as to best access, even the most basic of tools, under stress is what will give you the highest possibility of success. Not all success has to be physical, you may well see and avoid any problems in advance of the event. #situationalawareness With that said you need to have you #mindset aligned with the possibility of physical violence and your reactions to it, prior to the event, waiting until it is upon you is a recipe for disaster. Luck favours the prepared mind and luck counts. BUT; you can't count on luck! #Selfdefence has many ingredients, no single one is the only answer. So many people, instructors, try to defend their style/technique/approach. I don't, and I love it when we have to do a 'work-around', because what always worked until today, didn't work today!!! Keep #learning keep #training keep #trying and never give up the fight. #SelfDefense #Mindset #SituationalAwareness #PersonalSafety #ViolencePrevention #MentalResilience #CrisisManagement #RiskManagement #Leadership #EmotionalControl #Training #ContinuousImprovement #ProfessionalDevelopment #ConflictResolution #Adaptability #securityprofessionals #corporatesecurity #closeprotection #bodyguard

Generally, you can measure the training course outcomes by assessing factors such as participant satisfaction, knowledge gain, skill improvement, and behavioral change. This can be done through surveys, pre- and post-tests, evaluations, and observations. All depends on the goals and the objectives of that training course.

Just finished my presentation that's part of the 5-day "Train the Trainer" course, and I’m feeling both inspired and ready to level up my training game! Three things really caught my attention: Bloom’s taxonomy, which has completely changed how I think about learning outcomes; the different training methodologies that show how to keep everyone engaged and motivated; and designing competency-based training programs that really hit the mark for the learners. A big terima kasih to Master Trainer Jackson Ng for your wisdom, patience, and for making this learning journey jam-packed with tips and tricks. I am walking away with many valuable insights that I can’t wait to put into practice. To my fellow participants, I’m grateful for the friendships and connections we’ve built. The sharing sessions and the laughs we had made this journey even more special. Please come to Mukarami Coffee so that I could belanja you a cuppa. I hope my sharing about MH370, the LRT collision, the Batang Kali landslide, and BP’s Gulf of Mexico disaster helped explain why C-suites need to be trained to communicate effectively in crisis situations. In a crisis, even the best can fall. But being prepared reduces the risk of making a wrong step. Here’s to continuing our learning journeys and applying what we’ve gained to create impactful training experiences! #LearningJourney #TrainTheTrainer #ContinuousImprovement #Grateful #CrisisCommunication Pic: my notes from Day 4
