🙌 A HUGE THANK YOU 🙌 to Advanced Business Equipment for their INCREDIBLE support! They’ve put up not one, but TWO billboards highlighting Homeward Bound this month—one on I-26 near the Fletcher Mountain Home Exit and another on Sweeten Creek Rd near French Broad Stone & Supply! They've also featured Homeward Bound in their most recent nonprofit shoutout blog! 📰 https://lnkd.in/e8rfEk8A Since its founding, ABE has generously promoted and donated over $100,000 to nonprofits like ours! ❤️ We are so grateful for their commitment to our mission and their dedication to building a stronger, more compassionate community for everyone! #communityfirst #community #communitysupport #homewardboundwnc #advancedbusinessequipment #housingfirst #ashevillenc

“People living on the street, who you see further away from downtown, are less likely to go get a shower and eat at AHOPE. - Chayse, a client housed in January who shared her experience living and walking along Patton Avenue in West Asheville. It's essential to meet people experiencing homelessness where they are, and we'd like to commend our Outreach Team for reaching out to 265 people living on the streets, in cars, under bridges, and in tents - linking them to critically needed services, including emergency shelters, medications, medical care, mental health, substance use disorder services, and much more. #Outreach #asheville #community #homewardboundofwnc

From age 18 to 31, Lissa lived outside, moving between shelters, tents, and churches. In 2018, with the help of volunteers from Western Carolina University's IT Department, Homeward Bound moved Lissa into housing with the support of her case manager, Ben. When asked how she felt about having her own home, Lissa's eyes filled with tears, "I’ve never had a home before. Moving here makes me feel secure. I’m so excited I could just cry." It's been nearly 20 years since Homeward Bound adopted the Housing First model in 2006, and people like Lissa are why we continue to use this approach. #homewardboundwnc #endhomelessness #welcomehome #housingfirst #community

Compass Point Village is the only permanent supportive housing program of its kind in Buncombe County. Since its opening in September 2023, many of our residents have made their spaces their own, decorating their windows and doors with movie posters, homemade artwork, stickers, suncatchers, and other personal touches. Everyone deserves the right to express their unique personalities in their own home, and Compass Point provides the comfort and space they need to do so. #homewardboundwnc #welcomehome #community #asheville #Housingfirst

Almost everyone experiencing homelessness in the area comes through AHOPE, and we'd like to thank our AHOPE staff members and volunteers for showing them the compassion and welcome they deserve.
