Franchise companies recognize the exceptional fit that military veterans make for franchise ownership. It's not just about welcoming you back home that many offer discounts to veterans; it's about leveraging your skills as experienced and decisive leaders. According to a 2024 article in VA News, one in seven franchises is owned by a military veteran, highlighting the natural synergy between military experience and franchise success (source: https://lnkd.in/gDDGztCk) Transitioning from military service doesn't have to mean re-entering the job market. Franchise ownership offers a path where your entrepreneurship can flourish, especially within a supportive franchise environment. It's about embracing new challenges that not only benefit you but also your family. If you're considering franchise ownership, let's discuss your options. The data is clear: Military Veterans make phenomenal franchisees. I’m not sure that there is data to answer the qualitative question of WHY, but I’ll try: 1. Selection Bias. The type of person to volunteer to join the military has a strong work ethic, sense of duty and is not afraid of a challlenge. 2. The “Get Shit Done” Factor (Mission-Driven). The point of the military, as I understand it, is to win wars and accomplish missions. Like sports, it is very much a results driven enterprise (back to back World War champs, as a funny Fourth of July T-shirt read). No excuses. Veterans know how to take care of business, execute strategy and fight through adversity to accomplish the task or mission at hand. 3. Leadership Skills. While franchisees can expect a lot of operational and strategic support from the franchisor, one area they are somewhat “on their own” is hiring and managing employees. That is a result of the actual and perceived risk of joint employer liability (which is almost an existential threat to the franchising model, and rightfully scares the bejeesus out of most franchisors!). Veterans excel at managing employees….and almost certainly tend to higher OTHER veterans from their network, potentially creating a force multiplier effect! What am I missing? Excited to welcome a number of veterans (including retired Army Colonel and USMA Class of 1978 grad Ron Higham aka Pops!) and veteran supporting organizations for Stanford Franchise Pros’ unofficial company kickoff at the US Open this week in Pinehurst, NC! I once again failed to qualify but excited to watch with a bunch of great people in the franchise game 😂🙏💪🏻🇺🇸🏌🏻♂️ I’d be honored to work with any entrepreneurial- minded Vet that interested in becoming a franchise owner to find the perfect franchise opp (or, perhaps more importantly, to determine if going into franchising makes sense…not for everyone and does come with risks/downsides). And of course to negotiate the best possible terms with the vetted (no pun intended) franchisor of choice. Salute! #franchising #franchiseinvestments #franchisebroker #franchiseconsultant #item19 #franchisors #entrepreneurs #veterans #vets #SOV #MilFam

Franchise Consulting for Investment-Minded Individuals Who Want to Build Additional Revenue Streams 🏢 Entrepreneurship 💵 New Business Opportunities
Over the years I’ve worked with numerous Veterans to help them understand the ins and outs of franchise ownership and have had the privilege of helping several of them get into business for themselves through franchising. In most of these cases, I’ve worked with these Veterans as they were preparing to transition out of the military and into the next chapter of their lives. After helping these folks, there are a few common threads that really stood out to me. Everyone transitioning out of the military has a certain amount of fear. For many of them, the military is all they’ve ever known — and now they need to figure out what they’re going to do with the rest of their lives. But for former military — especially operators — franchises can be a perfect match. They get a playbook, and all they have to do is execute. And many franchises have discounts built in for veterans. If you’re a veteran or are still in the military and are about to transition out, it’s worth considering franchising. To learn more, go to the following link and schedule a time to chat that works for you. https://lnkd.in/gHQGCfBh It has been my distinct honor to work with former members of the military and help them get into their first franchise, and I’d be glad to share what I know. #FranchiseConsulting #militarytransition #NewBusinessOpportunities
