We had the best time at our 6th anniversary party last night in Pittsburgh! Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us! Our team got to meet Honeycomb investors in person, listen to pitches from some business owners currently live on the platform, and have a few beers.
Have you taken advantage of our zero-fees promotion? You only have until this Thursday at 6pm, so make sure you don’t miss out! invest.honeycombcredit.com

I will keep an eye out and reach out any time, totally like to go deeper see if there is a fit. Sorry to have missed the festivities, next time for sure. looked super fun.

Technologists for the Public Good is such a fantastic organization and I cannot wait to work with their Executive Director again. I like thinking that all our work at Iterators LLC is for the #PublicGood, #HiringIndividuals who are excellent at what they do, and often overlooked, creating #AccessibleDocuments that can be used with a #ScreenReader for the #VisuallyImpaired and more, Find us at https: IteratorsTesting.com, where we #value everyone. #A11y

I’ve been placing a priority on Black/African owned venture capital funds to talk to at Lola Vision Systems. The amount of funds available that are targeting Black minority owned startups are few. Yet against all the odds, and all the uncertainty I remain committed to reserving space for minority owned venture capital funds.
The AI hardware chip market is well above $160B across automotive, medical, aerospace & defense industries. Pair that with the $280B US Chips Act and you have a blue ocean growing edge AI computing market to participate in.
I’m hoping more Black Fund Managers take a closer look into this market leveraging the unprecedented nondilutive capital appropriated for these initiatives as a matter of national security.
Why? Because there was only 2 other Black people in the room (more here than there is typically). We represent less than 1% of total investments and I’m not sure how close to zero we are in deep tech. Yet I’m still intentional about providing more exposure.

Lots of people talk about the damage of the wrong co-founders and let the assumption stand that as long as you don’t choose them everything will be okay.
Why don’t more people talk about the magic of finding the perfect co-founders? And how to fuse them together in a way that makes a startup much stronger than the sum of its parts?
Why don’t more people talk about finding the most powerful thing that you can build into the heart of your startup before it’s even a thing?
Tonight Our CEO is speaking at Aussie Founders Club on exactly that, and we expect he’ll challenge a few conventions on how to pick, pay and bond with co-founders in a wholly unprofessional but deeply necessary way.
He’ll also share stories about the amazing people that almost became Maslow’s co-founders, and how there’s no shame in acknowledging that the fit isn’t always right.
We date people before we choose life partners…. Why shouldn’t we date them before we choose business partners?

OFFICIAL YEAR TWO @ Yung Studio!
To wrap this year, what if I share a few studio processes we explored and liked?
More threads, less meetings
We have been bringing in creatives from different countries or backgrounds to add more unbiased, global view for the work we do. We are doing fewer team meetings and more 1:1 Slack huddles and project channels to combat insane time zones.
Automate non-creative work
We use AI in our design process like OpenAI and Midjourney for rough style definition and grammar check, and Read AI for meeting recaps. We will continue to explore more non-creative, admin automation for efficiency.
Make on-boarding & collaboration easy
As we bring in new teammates and partners/clients for different projects, we made on-boarding easier with 1 tracker doc & 1 comm channel for each project. All design collaboration actions are on Figma, including explorations, presentation, guidelines creation. So far so good.

I'm still decompressing from one of the most thoughtful orientations I've ever been to: the Goldman Sachs Black in Business program.
This was, without a doubt, the most intentional and thoughtful event I've ever attended.
It was a good reminder of the importance of being intentional about where you're spending your money. It's not just about holding an event for Black entrepreneurs—it's about investing in that mission through every single detail.
For instance, if you have a swag bag and you're serving diverse founders, everything in that bag needs to be sourced from diverse founders. This commitment goes a long way in showing your audience just how much this initiative matters to your organization—by showing up with your dollar. While there is value in providing emerging entrepreneurs with resources, there is immediate support in becoming customers of those businesses.
And of course, I couldn't post without a subtle reminder that Nosh Posh offers healthy and deliciou snacks, all sourced from BIPOC- and women-owned companies. We're happy to work with you to create a tailored option for your next event or meeting. Step up your snack game with ease. (My DMs are open! 😉)

Choosing the tech for your business is a huge deal. Like, the biggest.
We chose Circle to be the home of our private member community for the ActiveCampaign Academy in 2021 and it is undeniably the best tech choice we made.
If you’re looking for community tech, and you ask my advice, I’m going to say Circle, every time.
Their CEO says set out to be undeniable in the space, and for my money, they’ve been that for a while now already.
Testament to the value of Circle in my business is this story from mid 2023.
They changed a feature slightly in a way that made it less useful for our specific technical B2B community. I literally cried about it when it rolled into my account and I saw what had changed.
And that was when I realised exactly how much we depend on this platform to serve our customers the way we do, with connection, fluency, and speed, every single day.
The happy ending…? Circle listened when we explained why it was such a bad change from our perspective, and for our community. And within 24 hours they’d rolled back the change, with apologies for making me cry.
Boom. That’s how it’s done people.
Link in comments if you’re looking for a community platform for your business - spoiler: go with Circle.
When we kicked off 2023, we rallied our team around one big goal:
To make Circle undeniable.
12 months and 200+ updates later, we've never been closer.
Hoping 2024 is the year Circle becomes the undeniable platform for communities 🔥
Let's talk about the importance of our 📜Stack of Receipts.📜
Your 📜Stack of Receipts📜 is unquestionable proof that you
✅ Have done hard things
✅Have faced unexpected challenges and have kept going
✅Have persevered even when not sure how you would make it
✅Will be able to continue all of the above
One of my 📜Stack of Receipts📜 came when I took a moment to reflect on this month's schedule.
Because October 2024 has been our busiest month at Ansley Corporate Entertainment since December 2020!
Your 📜Stack of Receipts📜 tends to build over time.
...Which is exactly why you have to hold space to reflect.
...Because 21 events this month didn't all come at once. Instead, they trickled in steadily.
Taking time to appreciate all that you've done also boosts your awareness that
- despite not knowing what lies ahead -
you have a 💯% success rate leading up to today.
Because anything you've faced up to now, you've made it through.
And isn't that worth celebrating? 🎉🎉🎉
