OK, this is a big one. We've launched our new Devices application. This is the corner stone of our world at System Loco so we are all *very* excited to share this news with you.
Devices allows you to manage your fleet of IoT gateways and sensors in your supply chain and logistics operations, we've made easier than ever to integrate the data they collect with your platform and with our new event history, it's much easier to understand the information collected by your devices, everything from:
Location, temperature, geo zone entry/exist, temperature, shock, knocks and movement, light and the list goes on......

It's just never been easier to digitize your operation and integrate it with your systems.
This is the start of an amazing new journey for us so watch out for more features and updates that are going to make your operation much more agile.

So, releases coming out thick and fast now. Our Devices application has been completely revamped. It's looking amazing and it's significantly easier to use. It's part of an ecosystem we are building that is really beginning to look beautiful now.
Devices is interesting because we moved to new technologies and tried to wade through quite a bit of back-end technical debt too.
It's built in Typescript / React (as opposed to Angular). We did this for a couple of reasons, we are already benefiting from reusing components all over the place and we think we can find React developers easier than Angular. I think there's still going to be some more lessons from this approach that will bite us in the arse later but let's see 🙈 (see post in one years time about component management lol).
We took the time to give some well needed TLC to our API to support the client, modernizing it with the most recent version of Spring Boot among other things and we've got really good at generating nice docs and SDK's.
I think my favorite change has been how we've looked at our device report data. We've rethought how we store and represent device instrumentation which gives us a massive head start in terms of how we improve our customer facing integrations and how we play with the data to build new products (more coming on that oh lordy; I'm trying to stay calm).
The video sizzler of devices, PLEASE check it out. It's so good. The team accepted the challenge when I created the Partner Portal video and they've really gone to town. It's obscene.
Thanks for everyone in the company for working on this.

#icymi - 5 years ago I built an #iot device to capture my video game controller input from my Atari 2600 and fed it into Qlik Sense #qliksense and produced some interesting results - I would love to revisit this again!
