🚨FOOD INDUSTRY NEWS🚨 Chicken was among the few fresh meat offerings that saw year-over-year price drops in April, while fresh beef, pork and turkey; bacon; smoked ham; and breakfast sausages all saw their average price per pound increase. The average price per pound for fresh chicken was down 0.1% in April, to $3.09, compared to the same period last year, according to Circana data cited by 210 Analytics, LLC. Processed chicken, which has a higher average price per pound at $6.72, saw an even more dramatic reduction than fresh chicken with a roughly 3% year-over-year price decrease in April. 🐔 #inflation #chicken #meatindustry #foodindustry #newsletter

For those who wonder whether lab-grown meat will ever be accepted by the masses, the article reads, “At Bar Crenn, it was selling 1 pound of chicken a month in 1-ounce portions to 16 people.” If you want chicken, there’s plenty of it—conventional, organic, pasture raised, whatever. You’ll be supporting agriculture, something we have been doing since the dawn of time. If you have an issue eating animals, have a salad or something else that’s not an animal. The world doesn’t need meat grown in a laboratory, and as a business developer, I’d love to see a business case that starts with a consumer wanting to eat meat that is grown in a fermentation tank or otherwise replicated, as opposed to coming from a real animal. Not only are such consumers nearly impossible to find, but the economics of making fake meat cannot compete with the world’s most efficient agriculture system in the U.S.. Governments and NGOs can try to tip the scales against real agriculture, but consumers get to decide what they will eat. I’ll go vegetarian before I eat fake meat or bugs, and I know that I am not alone. #agriculture #meatindustry #meat

What was your meat of choice this Christmas? It was reassuring to read this week that meat product sales were strong over the festive period, with supermarkets experiencing their highest level of transactions last month since 2019. According to Meat Management, traditional festive meats such as turkey, ham and pigs in blankets were up 6% in volume at UK supermarkets. Similarly, the Q Guild of Butchers said independent meat sellers had enjoyed a slight increase in sales in 2023 compared to the Christmas before. Other organisations reported growth in the popularity of other meat options, such as beef joints and wellingtons, and other pork products. At the end of a year when people have had to tighten their belts to deal with cost-of-living rises, it was a welcome boost for the meat manufacturing industry, which we at Danfood Technology hope will continue as the year gets underway. #meatindustry #meatmanufacturing #meatprocessing

Meat Sales Winnipeg July 18th to July 24th Few good sales! Freshco - Pork Tenderloin $2.97/lbs - This is an A+ deal, you will rarely EVER see pork under $3/lbs. I highly recommend you stock up! Remember Pork tenderloin is 70% protein so with this pricing it’s cheaper than chicken even on sale per gram of protein! And so I highly recommend stocking up because pretty soon we will not see so many great deals coming out. Superstore - Chicken Breast at $3.97/lbs - This is nearly an A deal! We used to see chicken come down to $3.50/lbs, but now I rarely see it $4/lbs or less. So stock up! Co-op Grocery AND Superstore - Lean Ground Beef $4.50/lbs - B-/C+ Deal - It’s pretty good but you’ll catch LGB as cheap at $3.50/lbs, but it’s not bad! Important to remember, LGB is 40% protein, so when you plan on making your meals with it, if you’re trying to lose weight, you only want to eat veggies with it to keep the total calories down. See the video for how you need to watch out when flyers state “It’s a great sale!” because most of the time it’s not! And if you want the webinar training, DM me “Meat” and I’ll send it over!

Suppliers are individuals or businesses that supply or supply goods or services to other businesses, be it to individuals or companies. For example, mayo risol producers need suppliers of meat, flour, eggs, mayonnaise, cooking oil, and others. Or a frozen food manufacturer that needs supplies of meat, flour, and plastic. This frozen food manufacturer can also act as a supplier to restaurants, supplying restaurants with the frozen food it produces. Suppliers play an important role in the product life cycle, from finding quality raw materials in the market to speeding up the production process. Every business or company needs to establish a good relationship with suppliers to make good products. Supplier functions and tasks Suppliers play an important role in every stage of the product life cycle. The product life cycle is the time it takes to form a product until it is on the market. The product life cycle can be large or small depending on the scale of the company. But, whether on a large or small scale, businesses or companies still need good and quality suppliers to be able to get the best products. #import #export #worldfacts #viral #world

MILK FIRST OR LAST??? 🐮 🐮 How do you make your morning cuppa? I have had some stick over the years for this in the workplace... I always put the milk in FIRST 🙌 🐮 Did you know that 15 BILLION LITRES of milk are produced in the UK each year? 🛒 7 Billion of those end up on British doorsteps, supermarket shelves or in restaurants & cafes. 🧀 3 Billion Litres go to the cheesemaking sector so we can enjoy over 700 named British cheeses The rest of the milk is mainly turned into butter, yoghurt, cream, milk powders and condensed milk within the #foodmanufacturing and #foodprocessing industry. The #employment across the Dairy industry is vast from Dairy Farmers to logistics, processing environments and food manufacture. Enjoy your morning cuppa all 🍵 Philippa 📩 philippa@williamsmanufacturing.co.uk #ukdairy #britishfarming #foodmanufacture #foodprocessing #ukmanufacturing #dairyfarming #britishmanufacturing #ukjobs #fmcg

Have you ever heard the term FIFO? Lets understand it in simple words.. 1) First-In-First-Out, or FIFO: 📍𝐹𝐼𝐹𝑂 𝑖𝑠 𝑏𝑎𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑎 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑚𝑠 (𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑡𝑠 𝑜𝑟 𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠) 𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑒𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑟 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑒 𝑢𝑠𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑟 𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑑. As an example, consider the following: This implies that older perishable commodities are utilized or sold before fresh ones in the food sector. For goods with limited shelf lives, such as dairy or fresh produce, it is essential. Advantage: By utilizing products prior to their expiration, FIFO saves waste, guarantees food safety, and lowers the danger of food spoilage. E.g.: In order to keep lettuce from rotting or wilting, restaurants that receive multiple batches of lettuce will use the oldest batch first. #FIFO #foodtechnology #storage
