Last week Wednesday, I had one of our SS3 parents commend me for my method of celebrating students in the #EurekaClass during their birthdays while I was their class teacher. I was surprised and at the same time impressed because somebody was calling other people's attention to one of the good things I do and recommending that teachers also take a clue from it and fashion their own style for celebrating students. I would like to encourage parents to make it a point of duty to always talk about what their children's teacher does well or is doing well. Parents' interaction should not always be based on what the teacher is not doing well or could have done better alone. It should not also be centred on students' performances alone. Take time to identify what the teacher has done well or is doing and tell this to either the teacher directly or the relevant stakeholders. When you add this to what you say, the teacher would be eager to partner with you to identify and address any concerns you have about your child or their performances. The teacher becomes more open to receiving your feedback. You can try this out in this second half of the term. Yours-in-advancement #ATM #ATM_global
