Interesting read. As a researcher and someone who works in #climate justice, I use the term ‘global south’ almost just as much as I use the term ‘global north’. For some reason, both these terms don’t roll off the tongue so easily, as they both feel rather divisive and inaccurate in depicting geographic reality. The way I rationalize it is by broadly thinking in colonial terms, i.e., global south countries are those that have been at some point colonized or exploited by countries of the global north, where south and north in this case are not necessarily related to actual geography, borders, and equator lines.
