Early careerist: Certified Business/Data Analyst, Project Management, and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt professional, and Master of Healthcare Administration graduate, seeking relevant experience and opportunities for growth
This video cites 4 reasons:
1) The job is a mid-level position posted on numerous job boards, and the ATS isn't specified for what level of experience (entry, mid-level, executive), so on LinkedIn jobs that don't specify are sometimes categorized as entry-level when they're not. 2) Disagreement between the hiring manager & HR where the manager prevails in demanding unnecessary qualifications. 3) There's too many applicants/expected applicants so they're trying to narrow down/filter the eligible candidates. And 4) they're trying to demand a lot, but also lower the compensation to see if they can find someone that meets strict requirements & is willing to work for less.
For all those entry level jobs being advertised, why state on the application that relevant experience is required? If a candidate is “required” to have experience in the role already then it’s not an entry level job. Surely it would be better to say experience is “preferable” would it not? Or maybe not advertising it as an entry level position but as something a little higher?
I started applying for a job last night...
Another application process where I need to upload a CV and then separately input my previous work and education experience...
What do they want my CV for? Template ideas? ... 🤔
Anyone else seen this on applications?

Delete these from your CV:
1. Marital status
2. Your high school and primary details if you have attended college
3. Your Religion
4. Your hobbies. Nobody is going to shortlist your CV because you love traveling (Unless it is a travel agent job :).
5. Non-professional email addresses. Ensure that your email address is professional and appropriate for job applications.
6. Long Paragraphs, instead use bullet points to present information clearly and concisely.
7. Irrelevant work experience.
Example: you are applying for an accounting job and you indicate that you have been working as a sales executive of XYZ company.
Adding extra stuff just to make your CV longer can hurt your chances. Keep it short and to the point by only including what matters.
*we understand that the hiring manager may be considering candidates from their personal network, but you need to make an effort to demonstrate qualifications and value as a potential candidate*.

I am sure, most of us would have received one or the other rejection e-mail triggered by ATS.
A snippet of the same below shows that there's room for improvement in how we treat candidates during hiring.
A generic rejection with some random details might be the norm ("closing the loop," they call it), but shouldn't we be doing more?
