Congratulations to St. Paul's House for winning Pitch Night this year! Every year, we host a Pitch Night event where three affiliates are chosen to pitch ideas for a chance to win a $20,000 Community Investment Award. Along with St. Paul's House, both Code for Life and Thrive Collective also pitched and received $10,000 each! St. Paul's House will be investing in a van that will change how they mobilize resources across their programs, Code for Life will invest in a summer coding program, and Thrive Collective will invest in a community art hub. Join us in congratulating our affiliates! 📸 www.austinwideman.com

It was fantastic to work on our 2024 Collaborate Cohort Day! A lovely half-day of engaging conversations and a great opportunity to welcome and connect with our cohort members in person. With a few weeks left in the program, I’m excited to see what we can achieve together. Looking forward to our next Collaborate event! 🚀 #LegalTech #LegalOps #LegalOperations
Our 2024 Collaborate Cohort Day marked the first programme-wide event, for our fourth cohort. The event brought together six of our current cohort members, guest speakers and members of the firm’s Innovation Network. The day included sessions on pitching, raising funds and acing adoption during legal tech pilots. We also welcomed Rhys Hodkinson and Collaborate alumnus, Will Seaton - Rhys provided candid advice on what he wished he knew at the start of his legal tech journey, and Will shared his programme takeaways and successes since taking part. To find out more about the programme, visit the link in the comments.

Great tips on how to prioritize grant opportunities! 🤞 you get the grant, Griffin Botts!
We're always on the hunt for new funding opportunities, but once you finally catch them, have you ever felt overwhelmed and uncertain as to where to begin? I've had a ton of folks ask me this month about prioritizing their grants work, so I recorded this quick video walking through my thought process as I selected and applied for a grant over the weekend. Let me know how you decide where to start in the comments!

A LOT of experimentation is underway to save local news by both legacy media, new digital startups and others. We’re seeing business models that incorporate crowdfunding, sponsorships, philanthropic investments, events that drive subscriptions, memberships … There’s a growing understanding that rebuilding local news is essential. One such effort is state government support. It’s recently happened in New York, New Mexico, California and Washington among others states. And many in journalism are predicting more states will follow suit. There are obvious issues here. For example, how does the Fourth Estate aggressively cover state government while also relying on its financial support? But then again, media has historically walked this line with the business community. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out in these states. What do you think? https://lnkd.in/eS3-zB_n

Loved this panel discussion today… open, honest, real world dialogue about how states and cities can collaborate with tech refurbishers, with true intention, to ensure everyone who needs a computer can have one. This is what solving the digital divide looks like in practice, and what the road ahead can be. #digitalequity #digitalinclusion
We're diving into how state and local collaborations are shaping digital equity, with insights from Kelsey Baird, Cheri Pierre, S.G. Pat Millen ,Cyndy Yu Robinson , Maggie Woods, and Scot Henley. A compelling look at overcoming challenges and harnessing collaboration to meet community technology needs with partnerships between cities, states, and nonprofit refurbishers. #TechAccess #AFTRR24 #refurbishedtech

What can we do to reinvent a downtown where small BIPOC owned small businesses can truly thrive? I look forward to working with our partners to advance the recommendations in our new report, out today! Small businesses are treasured community assets and provide pathways to economic security for many Black, Latinx, and Asian entrepreneurs and their families. They also have the potential to be a key part of revitalizing downtown San Francisco. But small businesses in San Francisco face multiple challenges: complicated permitting, high fees, escalating costs, and a sluggish post-pandemic recovery, especially in downtown areas with reduced foot traffic. City leaders can fortify San Francisco's small business ecosystem to create a better environment for entrepreneurs to operate downtown. Our research, drawn from a literature review and interviews with city staff, small business owners, and nonprofits, pinpoints seven interventions that would make a difference. Zonely came so close in the last round of this grant allocation, and has only gone from strength-to-strength in the meantime. Building a company is darn hard. There is so much that goes into it that we don’t see, from refining the product, building partnerships, acquiring users, and chasing grants like this, not to mention all the administration of the business in the backend. Zonely founder Alicia Nagle is doing it all. You can help propel Zonely to the next level by casting a vote in her direction, and make community sport more accessible to all 🏌️♀️🫶🏻🚀 There are not nearly as many grants or investment channels as there should or could be in the Australian market. That could shrink further with changes to philanthropic donations and sophisticated investor policies. Grants like this from @spark business can make such a difference to the growth of a business that could do with a little more fuel to really help it blast off 🚀
Here we go again! ⚡️ Zonely came third in the last round of SPARK Business Grants, which offers $10k and $5k grants for Female Founded Businesses. 💜 Let's try and win it this time! 🏆 We want to create more social impact, technology and active communities. 🏌🏼♂️ Voting takes 3 seconds, the link is in the comments. 👇🏼 Thank you LinkedIn FamBam! ⛳️👍🏼 📸: A Zonely TA-DA pic for thumb stopping purposes 😆

As we celebrate 5 years of business, we are excited to look back over the projects we've completed, the relationships we've built, and the impact we've made - together. Our first project goes all the way back to the end of 2018 with the start of the Community Driven Growth: A Roadmap for Dallas' Equitable Development Project. This $400,000 PRO Neighborhoods Grant (Partnerships for Raising Opportunity in Neighborhoods) project through JPMorgan Chase & Co. Foundation, in partnership with the MUSE FAMILY FOUNDATION, was awarded to The Real Estate Council (TREC) (now TREC Community Investors) who enlisted C-Suite Consulting (now C-Suite Equity Consulting, LLC), bcWORKSHOP, the Institute for Urban Policy Research, and Loveland Technologies (now Regrid) as subject matter experts. What made this project unique, and honestly where the core of the success was catalyzed, was in the partnerships with community organizations, including: The Golden SEEDS Foundation CDC, CitySquare (now The Forest Theater), St. Philip's School and Community Center, Builders of Hope Community Development Corporation, and Cornerstone Baptist Church. C-Suite Equity Consulting served as project manager overseeing timely project completion and contributing to community engagement and report writing for the development of an equitable development plan for three neighborhoods facing rapid transition (i.e. gentrification and displacement) in Dallas, including the Bottom, the Forest District, and West Dallas Census Tract 205. The final plan, and more details on the overall impact, and a landmark grant award that brought the plan to life from 2019-2023 can be viewed on our blog at https://lnkd.in/geEX-GZ5. We hope you enjoyed this first trip down memory lane and will continue with us on the journey of celebrating 5 years of impact! #displacement #gentrification #equitabledevelopment #communitydevelopment #powerofpartnership #collaboration #gofartogether #dallas #planning #strategy #research #engagement #data #impact #innovation #service #consulting #memorylane #5YrsofImpact #Anniversary #CSEC #WhereInnovationMeetsImpact #SocialImpact #EconomicMobility #EnvironmentalWellness #SocialEconomicEnvironmentalHealthandWellness #CSuiteEquityConsulting
