Do you have items sitting around that need to be donated? Rather than take them to a big charity shop that might put them in landfill, get a bag from ThredUp. You may not make much $, but that’s not the point. ThredUp makes sure none of the garments go to landfill. If they can’t be sold, they are given to textile recyclers to get a second life. This is one small step you can take to help our planet. 🙏🏻💙 #imageconsulting #imageconsultant #stylecoach #bethanysiggins #sustainabletips #sustainablestyle #slowfashion #thredup

This rule is best used on your closet 👕👟 . . This one is yet another rule coined by The Minimalists Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus - yes, the ones who have their own Netflix show. This rule asks you to consider the answer to 2 questions. . . #1 - Have you used this item in the last 90 days? #2 - Will you use this item in the next 90 days? If the answer to both of these questions is, "no", then the item should be donated or discarded. . . Technically you can apply this rule to whatever you want, but our HALO team suggests applying the 90/90 rule to your closet. Whatever you haven't worn in the last 90 days and do not anticipate wearing in the next 3 months, say goodbye to it. . . Clothing that is not ripped, stained or too worn is especially good to donate - and you have your fair share of places to choose from. Second-hand clothing is accepted into donation bins, thrift stores like Goodwill and Value Village, consignment shops and community organizations that organize clothing drives. . . Happy donating! . . #haloteamlove #9090rule #closetcleanout

Here are 3 top tips to help you declutter your wardrobes RESPONSIBLY! 1) The most responsible way to ‘dispose’ of unwanted clothes is to ensure they remain in circulation by selling them on via a second-hand resale platform. 2) Arranging a clothing swap with friends is another great way to ensure your unwanted items actually go to a new home. 👭 3) Donate your pre-loved items via our FREE charity clothes collection service - - https://lnkd.in/gt9np8AF 🚚 Let's work together to keep perfectly reusable clothing OUT of landfills!

Doing our bit for the environment! Will you do yours? On today's #EarthDay, we'd like to make you aware of our Enhanced Recycling Point. You can leave a large range of items with us that cannot be recycled via the normal curb-side collections. For the full list, see https://lnkd.in/dZWtUmFB Other items we collect: plastic bottle tops and ink cartridges for charity (will still be recycled but make money for charitable activities in the process) bubble wrap and hard-backed envelopes (to be re-used by local businesses) old tops and bras that are not good enough to be passed on (all ages and genders; we use those in our training courses to give our learners the experience of having to cut off a person's clothing in order to deal with injuries or cardiac arrest) Would you like us to collect items on your behalf? Contact us. Drop off point is at Pochat Training Devonshire House Station Road Brimington Chesterfield S43 1JU DROP OFF IS VIA APPOINTMENT ONLY (as we often work from home and aren't there, or are (out) training - which is what we do, after all 😉) #recycling #EarthDay2024 #earthdayeveryday #TrainingProvider

Decluttering? Here’s What to Do With the Items You’re Letting Go If you’re decluttering and you’re not sure what to do with certain items, here are a few options: Pass Down to Family or Friends: Some items may hold sentimental value. Consider passing them along to loved ones who will appreciate them. List Items Online – Try sites like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or OfferUp to connect with local buyers quickly and easily. Contact Consignment Stores – Quality items like furniture, collectibles, and decor often do well at consignment shops. They’ll handle the sale for you, and you receive a portion of the profit. Donate – Set a deadline and if items haven’t sold, consider donating them to local charities, thrift stores, shelters, or community programs. Gently used items like clothing, kitchenware, and furniture are often welcome additions. Recycle: For items that can’t be donated (like some electronics or large appliances), check for local recycling programs. Decluttering can feel freeing and helps make your home—and any future moves—easier to manage. Need a recommendation for good local consignment shops, thrift stores, or charities? Message me! I’m happy to help! 🏡✨ #declutteringtips #seniorliving #organizedhome #SRES #seniorrealestate #seniorspecialist Alzira Escobar-Pruitt, GRI MRP ABR CLP CREN SRES RE/MAX Real Estate Group (719) 210-9848 alzira@alzirarealtor.com

Here you can see we have two garages going at the same time. Pro tip: We start on one wall of every room we are in in order to “take control” of the area. This gives us a place to put all of the things that are being kept, donated, and trash. All staged in separate areas along our newly cleaned out wall space. #downsizing #minimalism #movemanagement #seniormovemanagement #colorado #organizingtips #declutter
