The research is in. Daily engagement in the Bible is the behavior that's most likely to build someone's spiritual maturity. In this episode, he and I talk about starting your congregation on the road to spiritual maturity through increasing their Bible reading. The book provides us with a framework to help us reflect on what God might already be doing and what we can do in the future to be fruitful. Here are 6 questions (they call it the 6Ms) to ask on your frontline, "how might you": M1: model godly character? M2: Make good work? M3: Minister grace and love? M4: Mold culture? M5: Be a mouthpiece for truth and justice? M6: Be a messenger of the gospel? This isn't an exhaustive list; however, it does go into our attitudes, actions, work, and words. This week, take some time to go through these questions and answer them based on what your frontline is.

In the beginning... Of 2025... I am starting a new routine. Here's the plan: ✅ Santa brought me a new Journaling Bible (one with wide margins for note taking. ✅ Read one to two chapters per day. Every morning. Early (4-5 am). ✅ Reflect on the reading (contemplative prayer). ✅ Study it (in solitude and silence). ✅ Write notes in the margins. Underline passages. Star it. ✅ Use a daily devotional to guide additional thoughts and reflections. ✅ When complete with reading the entire Bible, give it to my daughter as a gift (I estimate it will take 2-3 years). ✅ Do it again for my son. I didn't set goals for 2025. Instead, I am setting habits to live by that will form me into the person I want to become.
